This is a nice drive with many places you can stop for a photo. The scenery is spectacular and the views outstanding. We took time to make several stops as will be reflected by the number of photos have included with this posting. We would like to go back time and time again. Maine is a beautiful state.

Go after labor day, less people. If you are only going to visit Maine once, do not miss Arcadia National Park

This is a great starting point to find out more about the area before coming back to hike the best bits. The loop is well set out with loads of parking and spectacular viewpoints. Well worth the entrance fee because you can return for the next week.

Very nice rude around the park. We were very fortunate to find parking wherever we stopped. The fall scenery is beautiful and the walking not too strenuous.

Acadia National Park definitely deserves a place on your bucket list. This place is a national treasurer deserving at least two full days to effectively view the "island". Without the graciousness of the Rockerfellers donating over 50 miles of carriage trails along with 11,000 acres of his private land, this National Park would not exist properly. Would suggest staying in... More

The drive to Cadillac mountain was stunning but the loop drive was not so well marked and we ended up doing a crescent instead of a loop !

I had never been to Maine, after my visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, I'll be back. We love the scenic beauty of Acadia National Park and the picturesque town of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor surrounds the harbor and you can just sit, eat, relax and enjoy the port area. Bar Harbor also has many little eclectic shops... More

Acadia National Park has a lot to offer everyone from the beautiful loop road with stunning ocean views to great carriage trails for biking, walking and horseback riding (and even carriage rides), to hiking trails that range from easy to extremely challenging. There is even a beautiful sand beach for enjoying the ocean. I visited the weekend after Labor Day... More

Drove through Acadia National Park this week on the 27 mile loop. This is a perfect way to see the park for all age groups. There are numerous places to stop along the way to view the ocean; all of them pretty in different ways. The price for park entrance is only $20 per vehicle for an entire week. My... More

The drive along the ocean was amazing with many awesome viewing and hiking areas. This is a not to be missed experience and combine it with Cadillac Mountain. Count on a full day or two and that's without much hiking.
