My husband and I are certainly not ones for strenuous hikes, but love a bit of a challenge while being able to enjoy the scenery. This certainly fit the bill! We went backwards on the trail (started at the end). Felt it was much easier overall. The top of the mountain was breathtaking! Loved the spot along the south side,... More

We were up in Acadia for a few days and a friend suggested we climb Gorham. My 12 year old and my husband and I made the trek without issue, despite the fact that we are not hikers and I'm afraid of heights. The trail is well marked and relatively easy, though there are a few places where I was... More

I did twice this hike and both times I was very lucky with the weather. It is not a very difficult hike and the views that you are getting from up there on a clear day are stunning.

We walked up a family of 5, including a 6 years old child and it was great (not too easy for the young one, but he made it to the top). The views ate marvelous. I really recommend this trail. We even had lunch on the way up hill. The way down took us less than 30 minutes.

This is a nice trail that is well-marked and is relatively non strenuous. It's an upward climb to the top and when you get there, there are some excellent views. It takes just an hour to get up and then another hour to get down--more or less. I was a little disturbed though to see people bringing dogs who at... More

After driving to Cadillac Mountain for sunrise, we headed down to Sandy Beach to start this hike. Since it was so early in the morning the parking lot was pretty much empty, which was perfect since the lot was overflowing by the time we finished up. We decided to start the hike by doing the mountain first, and finishing up... More

This trail takes you the Gorham Mtn. Peak at 525 feet. Uneven terrain hiking, highly recommend the cadillac cliffs spur trail (some bouldering but nice change in hiking style) that parallels gorham mtn. trail. I took trail from Gorham Mtn. parking lot, but took a while to find correct parking lot as I hiked to it off of the Ocean... More

We hiked this trail twice during our visit. The first time on a cloudy/foggy day. The second time on a beautiful sunny day. During the foggy hike you could her the bell on a buoy ringing in the distance. On a sunny day the views are amazing of Acadia and the ocean. Definitely one of my favorite hikes during our... More

Hope my title doesn't discourage you from this hike, but you deserve fair warning that this is not the easy trail it's length may lead you to believe it to be. I'm speaking from the perspective of an active 60+ year old. Sure I could have done the trail with less qualms 40 years ago, but older people who still... More

this trail tricked us a few times. as we climbed, it seemed to even out a few times, making us think we were at the peak. But it kept going and so did we since we did not see the summit marker until we really did make it there. The views are constant and great. well worht the walk.
