This was a quiet trail that was beautiful all the way to the top. There are some larger rocks to climb on, but was managed well by hikers of a variety of ages. It took us about an hour up and less going down. Of course, we stopped for some picture taking. The view from the top of sand beach... More

I loved this trail. I wanted to pick something longer, but because of time contraints we went with this option. I'm scared of heights and didn't want to try the beehive, though you can get there from this trail. Total time spent hiking was probably 30-50 minutes. I can't say for sure because my (now) fiancé proposed and I can't... More

I love this trail; one of my favorite hikes with neat views of Sand Beach from the top. I call this my "comfort hike" as I do it every year. Not too difficult and definitely worth the view. Also, I take the trail to the other end and walk back to the parking lot on Ocean Drive so that I... More

This one of our favorite hikes in Acadia. It is not a long hike and is relatively easy, especially if you start at the Gorham Mountain parking lot. Try to combine it with the Bowl Trail: you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of a peaceful mountain lake. If you try to do Cadillac Cliffs section of the trail,... More

A day after running the MDI YMCA half marathon, my son insisted that I go on a hike with him. Gorham Mt Trail is a moderate hike, even including some rocky ledges to climb over, and with some rewarding views of Frenchman's Bay and the open ocean to the east and Cadillac Mt to the west. Once at the summit,... More

We parked by Sand Beach and followed Ocean Trail past Thunder Hole to the trail start, as we wanted to spend some time at the beach following the hike. I saw another review that rated the view better than Cadillac and I have to agree due to the lack of crowds and proximity to the water. It was a mile... More

We hiked this trail and did the caddilac cliffs option on the way up. It wad my wifes first hike and she had a blast. The cliffs option had some strenous portions but wad fun. The views were incredible and are the reason you come to Acadia.

We were told this was a must-hike trail for its uniqueness of being next to the water; the views are just spectacular and the hike was very manageable although still challenging. It was my first full mountain hike ever and I thought it was just perfect for that!

For the little bit of effort you put out, this is really rewarding hike! We parked at the Gorham Mountain parking area off of Park Loop Road, about a mile after Thunder Hole. The trail starts in the woods but the farther up you go, there's more granite and coastal views. The trail is extremely well maintained and very well... More

We parked our car in the beginning of this trail south of mt morham. The beginning is very easy but if you go to the cliffs side of the trail it can be very rocky and steep. The views from the mountain were amazing, and very rewarding after climbing all those rocks (it is not super hard but it def... More
