Schoodic Point is the further point of land on the east coast and the ocean waves are so beautiful and picturesque the ledges are so that the waves change form on every wave,at night time laying on the rocks and looking at the night sky and listening to the crashing waves and is the coolest spot to relax. This is rated... Stopped here during a week long stay at Acadia National Park... what a difference! The park loop was very croweded all week (we were there in August), but it was much less crowded at the Schoodic Pennisula. We missed some of the big views because of a persistant fog, but we climbed around on top of the muntain and hung... More

The Schoodic Point portion of Acadia National Park is just as picturesque as the Island portion but it's what your missing that make the trip down the coast a bit worthwhile. You don't have to fight for a parking spot. You don't have to pay a fee to get in. You don't have to fight crowds of people and traffic... More

This entire area is spectacular. As you move up the Maine coast, the coastline itself becomes more dramatic. This means that Schoodic Point is even more beautiful than what you find on MDI (hard to imagine until you see it in person), along with the fact that nobody comes here! Well, you may see one or two other souls sitting... More

We went to Schoodic National to get out of the busyness of the Bar Harbor portion of the Acadia National Park. We were rewarded with traffic free roads dotted with bicyclists that wound through breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. At the Point was a parking area. We walked over a fairly flat rock area peppered with people picnicing, reading... More

We spent the day traveling the Schoodic point loop road while we were in Acadia. This is a nice quiet area with excellent views and shoreline. While here we took a short hike to top of Schoodic point.

Was told about Schoodic Point by someone while we were in Bar Harbor. It is worth the time to drive there, as it is a ways outside of Bar Harbor. I was very surprised that we were the only ones there. We spent two hours just sitting watching the waves crash onto the rocks. It was a beautiful day and... More

Schoodic is a must see part of acadia national park. The power of the surf and the amazing rocks are unlike anything you will see elsewhere. Kids love climbing on the rocks for hours.

We visited this park in September 2013 after Labor Day, we had our dog with us. This park offers the best when it comes to getting a taste of the Maine coast. We were driving and there was a great picnic area on the water and lots of places to pull over and walk on the beach or take a... More
