We hiked this trail with our children on a foggy June day. Even though we couldn't enjoy the views from the summit, it was still worth doing. It was a gorgeous hike, pure Maine.

This was our first hike during our week at Acadia and possibly our favorite. It is a mid level hike that our kids were able to do without difficulty and had nice views along the trail and great views at the top. I'll mention that we hiked this the morning after a rainy day and there were parts of the... More

Asked a park ranger the best place to catch a sunset....Cadillac Mountain is wayyyyy to crowded. She told us, go to Beech mountain, take the Beech Mountain trail, and was she right. When you arrive take the trails to the left of the bathrooms. When walking down the trails, take the trail that goes to the right. After about 10... More

Beech Mountain was a great choice for us during the National Parks government shutdown time. There are several ways to get to the summit: Beech Mountain Ladder trail is the most difficult one, so we opted for a moderate longer hike via Valley Trail. After parking at Long Pond, we started easy walk in the woods and then embarked on... More

The hike to the Beech Mountain summit provides awesome views inland, to the ocean, as well as the coves and lakes in the area. This hike is designed as a loop, but you have a choice at the parking area. .7 mile to the top via the moderate trail, or .4 mile via the difficult trail. If you want to... More

This trail was more than expected as far as length and difficulty. However it was one of the best trails that we were on in Bar Harbor. It is located on the Southwest side of Desert Island. Beautiful Views in multiple stops along the way.

This trail is a little over 3 miles, a bit steep but beautiful views of the Cranberry Isles, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor and beyond. You can also add the Beech Cliffs Trail, a fun Cliffside trail overlooking Echo Lake. Good shoes and water are a must.

I loved this trail. A park ranger told us that it might be too difficult for us, with the ladders, but it was just right for us. The views were incredible. We hiked from the beach, to the top, and back around to the beach. We ended up doing it twice, so that everyone in our party would get the... More
