There are two ways to climb Mount Beech Trail, we chose the easier one however, it was not easy in any sense of the word. The views are out of this world and there were so many places to stop (sitting on the side of the mountain) to rest from the climb and look at those views. We made it... More

Acadia national park needs to improve its wheelchair and walking disabled accessability. Ships harbor trail is close but beech cliff trail and Canada cliff trail could be made accessible with thought and some sweat. The great views should be available to all hikers on at least a few trails.

Our dog enjoyed the trails up and only needed encouragement once at a steep step. The views were stunning and the journey pleasant. If I had my paints and a very lightweight pouched this is where you would find me.

Did this hike first on our trip to acadia national park and loved it. It was a good into into climbing ladders. Took a dip in the lake after and it wasn't even that cold, even though people were looking at me like I was crazy.

This hike takes you to the top of Beech Mtn where there is a fire tower. You can climb up the fire tower a little ways for even better picures of the surrounding area. When we came to the 'fork' we went left first as that is the hardest way and best to go hard going up versus going the... More

We hiked this trail in August. There are two options for approaching the trail. The shorter route involves a steeper grade. A good portion meant climbing over rock. We took this option on the way up and the more gradual trail on the way down. My husband and I are in our 50s and were glad that we chose this... More

My husband and I enjoyed this hike which was rated moderate with the climbs and footing. We did this in less than an hour and a half with lots of stops for pictures. This hike is on the "quiet side" of MDI with fewer crowds. Lots of great views at the top

Did the shorter, more vertical hike on the way up for a workout, 0.3 mi I think and the longer 0.7ish one on the way back. The short vertical trail definitely had my heart rate up and required some crawling on all fours. Did the full thing in about 90 min including enjoying the views at the top. This was... More

Easy, well-marked trail that is perfect if you would like to view a great sunset without the crowds around Cadillac Mountain. The best view would likely be on top of the fire tower but it was locked so we had to find another place to view the sunset around the top.

Reviewed by a middle aged, overweight flatlander. This hike was pretty easy to find. We took Hwy 102 past Somesville & turned right at Pretty Marsh Road. We then took the second left on to Beech Hill Road. The road dead ends into the parking lot. This is also the trail head for Beech Cliff Trail, which we did first... More
