We really enjoyed this hike. It is a pretty good workout, but not too difficult and/or techincal. The views along the way of Long Pond are great and the view at the top is beautiful. There is a tower that you can climb up to get a better view. I thought the view on top of Beech Mountain was much... More

You really cant go wrong hiking to the top of any trail in Acadia. This trail fits the same category. Good view on top. Only difference withe this trail and some of the other moderate trails in Acadia 1. Take the 0.4 mile hike up and you will get some really nice cardio exercise. Steep climbs but not very difficult.... More

We did this trail after kayaking and in the afternoon so we were a little tired. Very nice views. Beautiful!

Great hike with wonderful views of the western part of Acadia - the quiet side. It overlooks Long Pond and further west. Very close to Southwest Harbor and Acadia Mountain. An old fire tower is at the summit with terrific views!

This is a very nice, well maintained trail and it is over on the quieter side of Acadia. The trail is not for the wheel chair set, but is not overly strenuous with mostly secure footing. A few big rocks to climb up and down but not too many. Recommend you take the trail that goes up and around the... More

There are amazing views! It's steep going up, but it's not very long. Definitely worth the climb. We just did the loop, but I think you can combine it with other trails. Our ten year old loved it! I even did it with a bad knee (but I wore a brace). I would do this hike again.

For the shortness an relative ease of the hike, it was definitely worth it! It is also in a less tourist packed part of the park which is nice. We only passed 2 groups on our way up and down. There are two options, a .4 and .7, we took the .4 mile up. Absolutely amazing views of 3 harbors... More

When you arrive at the top there is a fire lookout so you can get above the trees. From there you can see the following: Sargent mtn, Acadia mtn, st. Sevaur mtn, flying mtn, sutton island, cranberry island, islesford( little cranberry island), baker island, southwest harbor, and northeast harbor. Every time we Come to Acadia we do this hike, but... More

Great hike down via the Canada cliffs... Lots of great views and then cool shaded forest walks... Took the .6 mile trail on the way up which was very steep and surprised by 3 ladders at the top which i would not recommend for kids or novice hikers-

The dappled light, fern covered boulders, ancient pines and stone walls made for a magical hike. We veered off the Beech Mountain Trail down to the lake, which was an absolutely beautiful hike, but when we got all the way to the bottom, we discovered that we were at the parking lot by a great place to kayak. Was delighted... More
