We enjoyed our hike around Jordan Pond. It is flat, well-maintained trail that loops around the pond. The surface of the hike varies: gravel, forest floor, boardwalk, and rock. We also hiked up the South Bubble trail to the top of the South Bubble mountain and came down the Bubble Divide trail. This added elevation, challenge, and a beautiful view... More

the nature trial around the pond is so beautifully built with raised wooden beams on the south side and a granite pebble trail on the north. The views are sublime. This is an easy 3 mile walk for anyone who walks regularly.

Jordan Pond is a beautiful place to visit. The shop gets a little busy, but that is to be expected. There is actually a decent amount of parking, as there are several lots close by, we didn't have a problem with that. Once you go behind the building, and walk past the restaurant tables, there tends to be a decent... More

Jacob Pond was so scenic and quiet. This mountain lake was idillic beauty. It was maybe a 4 mile hike, not challenging terrain, about 1 mile of split log boardwalk, quant bridges, lots of waterfalls, just gorgeous. I was completely high on fresh air and clean beauty. Being here just before Memorial day allowed us to have the place practically... More

Between sequestration closing the park loop road and it being "early" in the season (first week of May), Jordan Pond House was a ghost town. We parked & walked around the place & only saw one man working on a ladder who totally ignored us & everything was locked up tight. However, that meant we had the entire pond trail... More

Nice to hike around the lake.. We did not have lunch there, instead brought a picnic lunch and ate right on the lake!

When you're on Mount Desert Island you owe it to yourself to make the short trip to the Jordan Pond house if for nothing more than to have tea and popovers. A delightful experience.

The trail around Prong Pond makes for a nice walk. It was raining on an off the day we visited but the scenery was still nice. Only in a very few parts of the trail do you have to navigate through rocks and over slippery boards. Going counter clockwise from the parking lot, these areas were on the back left.... More

Again, take the carriage trails, eat at the Jordan Pond house at the edge of the pond. You will think you are in heaven. So gorgeous that it can't be real. One of the best parks in North America.
