As a kid, Jordan Pond was an annual destination during the two weeks we would spend in Maine; we would hike the ridge (Penobscott and Sargent Mountain) and loop around Jordan Pond to end at the Pondhouse for popovers and tea. The ridge line is a relatively easy hike (I've done it in sandals) and it's one of those hikes... More

Beautiful view! The restaurant serves wonderful popovers! It was so busy during the lunch rush that we went back later for tea and popovers. I wish they had an area that was just popovers and drinks. They have a full service menu and the view is so pretty and relaxing people tend to sit and enjoy their time but this... More

When I first stepped out of the car - the only thing I heard about the Jordan pond is the restaurant that serve tea and popovers. It is a tradition to have tea and popovers by sitting under one of the lawn umbrellas. My first advice to anyone visiting the Jordan Pond is do not get into this gimmick and... More

We parked at North Jordan Pond parking lot and started the trail to the right. What a fantastic nature walk! We went with 4 adults, a 9 year old, 3 year old, 2 year old in a backpack and 2 small dogs. It was fun for all and so many places to stop and take in the scenery and take... More

An excellent walk around the pond on a well tended path, with just a bit of scrambling over rocks. Very good for stretching and a bit of exercise before lunch or popovers and Jordan Pond House. About 3 miles, and under 90 minutes even for grownups.

Jordan Pond is beautiful, but pretty crowded because of the restaraunt. Def take the bus if possible. Very pretty area, lots of people.

WOW, Magnificent grounds the restaurant is noted for its pot pie pastry turn overs , had a wonderful lunch and plan to visit again next year ....... Highly Recommend ...... Only Dislike was the wait for the food , but it was definitely worth it , everything is made fresh to order .......

Your leashed dog can go with you into the restaurant, and gift shop. The views are really nice. Park in the North lot and take the short path to the shop area. The closer south lot is always full and frantic.

The scenery was beautiful looking across the lake to the Bubbles Mountains. We hiked a little way along the lake and it was an easy gravel trail. Be aware that the restrooms are not only hard to find but also to reach. The first involves cutting across the back of the restaurant where the waitstaff are rushing in and out... More

Most of the trail is level, although there is a fairly long stretch where you walk on planks and then some rocks. We encountered a woman who thought she was near the end of the walk only to learn that the sign at the entrance was indicating how far it was to another trail (oops).
