You will want to stop here to get general info and a parking/park pass for $25. The pass is good for 7 days and allows you to park anywhere you want to in the park. We chose to keep our car at the welcome center for the day and utilize the free trolley to get around the park. There are... More

The park is a must visit! And oncw again, a great job by NPS. Everyone was so polite throughout and helpful. This is literally where the mountains meet the sea. Beautiful trees, natural cliffs, lovely beach, enough hiking trails (although I felt they weren't well marked), a seashore all the way - Acadia has so much to offer. Make sure... More

The park is stunningly beautiful, and the kind people at the visitors center gave excellent information for our family to have a great experience there. Thank you!

I couldn't find a listing for just the park, so I'm using the Visitor Center listing to comment on the park as a whole. The park is much more than the sum of its parts (specific trails or locations). My wife and I were reminded of home at this national park (NP): like the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), Acadia... More

Acadia National Park is breathtakingly beautiful. The view os the rocky coast and mountains are like Heaven. Hiking trails are not for the average person, even the "easy" hikes will give you a workout.

We have been to Bar Harbor Main and Acadia National Park twice already and looking forward to our trip back again this August. This time we are taking our nature loving granddaughter with us. The loop road and dessert mountain are fantastic. Each curve of the road gives you an excellent view. Early birds, get up in time to see... More

Great place to start as it gives you a great overview of the park. The short film offered is informative and worth the time. There are steps up to the Visitor's Center, so if you can't do steps you may want to call ahead to see if there is another entrance provided.

We had our first visit to Acadia last week and glad we stopped here first. Park rangers were very helpful in answering all of our questions and providing us with maps that we used for the duration of our stay. We also, purchased our pass here. I was a little disappointed that the center close at 4:30 but I think their... More

The Park is beautiful, but the visitor center is somewhat lacking. The signage is rather poor and I saw several older folks have an issue with a huge amount of stairs. There is no place to purchase a snack or bottle of water nearby. In fact the concessionaires are pretty hard to find in the park overall. The park staff... More
