We went to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine during our trip to Maine. It was both beautiful and amazing. The Thunder Hole is amazing (very similar to one called the Blow Hole in Hawaii) but a lot more close by. When we went the fee was waived and we were able to explore on our own this beautiful... We enjoyed this park so much! The visitor center is staffed with knowledgeable and helpful staff. We took the guided bus tour of the park to identify the highlights. Next day, we packed lunch and spent the entire day in the park. Thunder Hole is amazing, be sure to catch it on an incoming tide; the sound and spray is... More

We visited Acadia National Park today, Veterans Day. The VC was closed...on a National Holiday. Fortunately, the normal fee of $20 was waived today, to try to get more Americans into the Park. If it hadn't have been, we would not have visited. We live in a National Park in England where you are not charged to see Mother Nature... More

Beautiful, breath taking panoramic views. Acadia has everything form beautiful beaches to gorgeous mountain peaks. A must see in the fall when the leaves are turning.

Every National Park has its' own specialized Visitors Center. The Acadia VC will give you all the info you might need before starting your day of oohs and ahs. Rangers are very informative and will help you with most anything.

As a senior citizen, we were prepared to pay for our lifetime pass but the ranger at the desk noticed my VA Identification card and told me that since I had a service connected disability, our pass would be free. What a surprise. He also told us about many of the park's attractions. The view from atop Cadillac Mountain is... More

Breath taking , gorgeous and beautiful and you can add more adjectives. No matter where you look the awesomeness of nature surrounds you. The visitors center / gift shop is very nice and well maintained--all of the staff are pleasant as well as helpful. Climbing up to the top of Cadillac mountain is a must--but be careful--as the view will... More

The visitors center itself was good - filled with small souvenirs, books, and maps. It was crowded, but we were there in summer time. Also, the building is located up some stairs. We were planning on taking our stroller for the baby, but couldn't. The park is gorgeous!! We choose to drive the loop road as we had our young... More
