A ton of great information on Acadia, and this should be your first stop in the park. Maps, books, very helpful rangers and a good short movie areavailable. If you are a senior, this is a good place to get your $10 Senior pass, good for all parks for the rest of your life. They do not make bargins any... More

We always take our visitors to the Visitors Center for an overall look at the views and trails that we will seeing. A great way to start a tour to strangers.

Be sure to watch the video narrated by Marlin Perkins. He gives a great overview and some history. Pay your entry fee here. Small gift shop and a nice display area.

The short movie is one of the best I have seen at a national park. Well worth the time. The rangers are helpful and really took their time with the Junior Ranger candidates. We went back each day of our journey to help determine which hikes were best for the weather/conditions that day. We missed the fee station (by the... More

Acadia National Park is a fantastic place to relax, see the mountains and the ocean, go to beach, or run. If you have a car you can drive for all places of the park. Do not forget to pay the $20 car entrance first. You can do it in the Bar Harbor stores or in the park main entrance. Sep... More

We entered the building which was quite crowded but received excellent service and informational guidance about our intentions to see the park and its beauty.

Your pass gets put in a rear view window holder and you get in free vs paying $25 for car and driver and $5 per passenger. Early in the morning and week days are the best time to do the loop in a car as there are few people and plenty of places to park. Be careful on the one... More

I actually did not visit the visitors center, although I parked in the lot. The fall leaves were just stunning and this park was absolutely beautiful. Being from California, I have never seen the fall colors before, and I was just in awe of the natural beauty. I highly recommend going. An added plus- everyone in Maine is just so... More
