This hike was my favorite in the park. It is rocky- round boulders at the lower elevation and large rock slabs as you progress. It takes about 1/2 hour if you take your time to climb to the top of the steep trail. Areas of vertical climb have metal rungs drilled into the rock that you will use as steps/hand... More

Six of us, from 29 to 68 years old, loved our climb and were overwhelmed with gorgeous views! Breathtaking!

I wanted a challenging hike for my teenage girls. The trail starts with a rocky path then moves to granite slabs. Cairns (rock stacks) and blue dots mark the trail. Unlike most mountain trails that zigzag to go up, this trail takes the more direct route. We used both natural footholds and iron rungs to climb. When we would get... More

I hate to rate this a 1 star (because it is exhilarating & ultimately we loved it when we got to the top) but hopefully this will catch attention. I think it is really easy to see all the 5 stars and think "well, it must not be that bad if all these folks think it's a 5 star" Here... More

This was an intensely satisfying trail! The views all of the way up are breathtaking and the sense of accomplishment is a perfect finish! The trail is difficult for some and I would not recommend it for young children: steep ladders up cliff faces!

Beautiful views at the top, but this trail is not suitable for young children or anyone who isn't surefooted!

This is one of the most unique and coolest hiking trails I've ever done. Although it's a steep climb, it's relatively easy and not too long. You climb to a height of 520 feet, and the entire trail is less than 1 mile long. From the base to the top takes 15-30 minutes, depending on trail traffic and your stamina.... More

It's a quick hike up and a short winding trail down. We picked up across street from Sand Beach - took us somewhere between 1 - 1.5 hours roundtrip. Trail is well marked with blue along the way, and it doesnt take long to get to the top, i wasn't winded from climb just moved slow to enjoy the views.... More

Given the "difficult" ratings in most of the guide books, I was expecting something tougher than what it was, but it was a really fun trail and honestly not too tough assuming you don't have issues with heights. There were 3 of us on a fairly busy day during late morning and we were up and back in about one... More

Standing at the intersection of the Bowl trail and Beehive Trail - looking up at the hikers/climbers scaling the Beehive is enough to give most people second thoughts about taking the 'vertical' route up the Beehive. If you know you are terribly scared of heights or in really poor physical shape then you may want to continue on the bowl... More
