As we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain we took advantage of the pull offs for spectacular views. Once arriving at the very top (there is ample parking to accommodate a good number of cars) you can spend some time walking around the various paths - bring a jacket because it can be cool at the top regardless of... Drove to the top of the mountain in our car and the views were spectacular. It was a beautiful sunny day and we could see for miles. It was crowded but we were able to park and walk around and take photos. 2 days later it was rainy and chilly, about 55 degrees, and we drove back up to cadillac... More

Since Cadillac Mountain is easy to drive to and with a big parking lot, there are buses and vans full of tourists in the summer. Still, it provides great views of Bar Harbor and is fun to kind of stomp around on. Not set up to provide as good of views to the west, though.

We climbed Cadillac mountain twice (in a car both times); once mid-afternoon to get a good understanding of the lay of the land, and once the following morning to watch the sunrise (in August, it is not the first sunrise in the United States, but it is still early!). Great views both times.

Scared the crap outta me driving up it as you look down...........way down..........however the view at the top and the day combined to make it well worth the trip. You can see for miles and miles and the wind was nice as it kept us cool! Must have been over 1000 people there and it still seemed to be private... More

The views are incredible and if it's foggy it's still a sight to see. The sunset is spectacular! Did not get up early enough for sunrise but would love to see that next time. This was my grumpy teenagers favorite sight on our trip to Acadia.

I came to Acadia National Park with my boyfriend as part of a 10 day road trip up to Nova Scotia. We were at Acadia for two days. We both love hiking. My boyfriend has climbed many "14-ers". I'm glad we made the decision to drive up Cadillac Mountain rather than hike it. For one, if you are only visiting... More

We did the drive up Cadillac mountain and were thrilled that we did. We got up early and so we were among very few people who were there at that time, so it seemed like we were alone. What a gorgeous place to see.

The view is beautiful. The ranger tour tries to be interactive, but after they warn you about leaving no trace, they encourage you to attack an erradict. If you don't know what an erradict is - take the tour. If you want to do anything else in that hour - do!
