Nice facilities; plenty of parking. Great views. Plenty of paved trails. If you go off-trail exert caution tho your biggest risk is likely a skinned-knee (maybe a wrist injury.)

We hiked up this mountain using the moderate hiking path. Took about 1.5 hours and it was pretty difficult but really enjoyable. Good workout! Another 1.5 hours coming back down. Great views along the way and spectacular view at the top. We are in mid 50s and 60s and in pretty good condition if that helps anyone n deciding to... More

We arrived 40 minutes before sunrise. Cool and windy. Jacket, gloves and ski band helped. Bring coffee. Beautiful. GO see the park. It's quiet and plenty of parking. Granola bars or snacks help if you go longer than you expect. Almost no food concessions. During the day,we hiked the trails on top of CadillacMountain. SUNSET is at High Point Overlook... More

Sorry can't give a 5 because the fog was so thick you could not see 5 feet. The park itself is great and the tourist trap hut selling stuff is cool, besides that can't speak to the view. We made the best of it and shot our own zombie video coming out of the fog.

We hiked up the North Ridge Trail to the top of Cadillac. We spent about 45 minutes at the top-a very busy place at the top. It is a beautiful view, but we found the views on the way up and the way down, away from the crowds, to be our favorite spots. Its 2.2 miles up on this trail.... More

Hiking in Acadia was enjoyable--around Jordan Pond and along the Ocean path from Sand Beach to Otter Point--but the views from the top of Cadillac Mountain were glorious. We were lucky to have a perfect day (sunny, warm temperature, breezy) and the 360 degree panorama was everything we could have asked for.

Well, not exactly on top of the world, but the sweeping views from the top of Cadillac mountain are worth the crowds. We visited at the end of the day (full disclosure--drove our car right up into the parking lot after hiking around Jordan pond and the Bubbles divide) and there were dozens of people walking around the summit trail... Started hiking just before dawn on the south ridge trail, just past Blackwoods Campground. Hike itself is approx 3.5 miles to the summit. This early morning adventure definitely paid off as the sunrise was spectacular. At the summit of Cadillac it was packed with cars watching the sunrise but they quickly left leaving us with a quiet peaceful views in... More

This is the second time we went to see the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain in two years. Last time we arrived about 45 minutes before the sunrise and took a lot of great photos for the changing of color in the sky and water. According to a Bar Harbor publication, the sunrise on the date of our visit... More
