The view during the day is gorgeous and watching the sun rise from there is spectacular. Don't think you are the only one going to see the sun rise. We thought there would be a few and there were a thousand. Go early, pack some coffee and a muffin and just enjoy.

We followed a wonderful recommendation to catch the sunset on top of Cadillac Mtn. What you do is time your drive if you're staying in Bar Harbor to arrive about 30-40 minutes before sunset. Drive all the way to the top of the mountain to get the beautiful eastern view. Then, drive to the western viewpoint about 15-20 minutes before... More

It was chilly this time of the year. If you plan on visiting at this time of the year you need a jacket. The view is amazing, the hike is nice. If you plan on going with toddlers you need to make sure you can carry them because the way is not so great for them to be walking there.... More

Great Views and easy access to the top but also plenty of trails to hike up. Just don't expect piece and quiet or solitude as when we were there, there were hundreds of people every where. 1500 feet does not seem like much but when most everything around is at or near sea level it makes quite an impression.

We were afraid we wouldn't be able to wake up early enough for sunrise and drove up for sunset on a whim... it was beautiful! A def stop, fun to hike around the rocks, et.

Visited it on the last day. Did not have time to do the hike so we drove up. What a view! You can see bar harbor and the many small islands along the cost. It's a very winding drive and sometimes scary steep drops along the sides.

Cadillac Mountain is absolutely worth stop if you're in Acadia. I can't imagine hiking all the way up in the heat, but it was a nice quick drive with a huge pay off. The overlook area is large and expansive so it's a perfect place to eat a semi-private picnic. You can take a quick look on the pavement and... More

The views of Bar Harbor were amazing from the top. There is tons of traffic even on week days so parking is kind of a nightmare. The view was worth the crowds.
