Most people are commenting about the carriage rides. You can also bring your horse with you on vacation. I can't think of another place on the east coast that offers such a comprehensive network of carriage roads where you and your horse can spend some quality time riding. You can also bring your own carriage and horse team to ride... More

We took the two hour carriage ride to Day Mountain and it was wonderful. Our drivers Ashley and Amanda, were very informative and fun. They really know the history and the little tales that go along with the ride. Overall, it was a wonderful experience

I will say right up front that I thought this would be a hokey touristy thing to do but I had my 86 year old mother with me and hiking was not an option so we opted for a carriage ride. It was delightful. Our driver was funny and knowledgeable. The ride was relaxing and we enjoyed the 6 others... More

We did the bridges tour. It was a nice break for us after hiking all day. Our guide gave us the history of the roads which was interesting and we got to see the Rockefeller bridge which was beautiful. It was a little disappointing the others were under repair but they tried to make the best of it.

I made a reservation for the day summit tour about a week in advance. once we got there everything went smooth. when we were all loaded onto our carriages and got just outside the stable we were told it was too foggy to do the summit tour so we would do the bridge tour. they really should have told you... We took the 2 hour bridges ride with Jodi driving Rock and Rollin. Jodi gave us lots of info about the carriage roads and the park. She was a funny and a good guide. We had a beautiful day (28 Aug) and a nice, relaxing ride through nature. Our carriage had 8 people and we had plenty of space. Definitely... More

We signed up for the "Bridges" carriage ride 3 days in advance. It was advertised that you would see 16 bridges. We arrived the requested 15 minutes early only to discover our reservation was lost. There was a long line with a frustrated young lady explaining that it was her first day working there. There was another lady there but... More

We were disappointed that we only got to see the one bridge, the Cobblestone bridge, since some of the roads were closed for repair, but that is no fault of the Wildwood Stables. We were on the last carriage with an elderly gentleman, Mitchell, as our guide. He had some interesting stories to tell. I know that he enjoyed taking people... More

My girlfriend and I did the Day Mountain Summit Tour on August 22nd, 2013. It was a two hour event that lead us across the Carriage Roads to the summit on a lazy, winding ride through some of the quietest areas in Acadia. Our tour guide, Jodi, was great! Lots of funny stories, good sense of humor, worked well with... More
