Caccamo castle is a little off the main tourist routes, but it was certainly worthwhile. Easy parking in the village below, and not too far to climb to reach the castle entrance. The entrance charge was very reasonable, and after a brief explanation in Italian of the history of the castle, we were left to go around on our own.... More

We decided to visit this castle after reading about it in our guidebook and we weren't disappointed. It's an ancient beautiful site with a lot of history and a spectacular view. The ticket includes a guided tour; our guide (she was speaking italian, I am not sure whether they speak english, it may be worth inquiring) was very kind, told... More

Cool, well preserved castle in a nice typical hillside village. Too bad some of the rooms were not open and the modern restoration took some of the atmosphere away in some parts. Great views of the surroundings though (of course) and well worth a visit. Most castles I've seen are not so complete.

We arrived at this impressive fortress early AM without much of a preparation or information. Small signposts give you just about the right information, and sights, cellars and pathways are mostly open for access, allowing you to get lost in the cavernous spaces. As we were about to leave we were approached by a local who offered a free extensive... More

We take a tour in this nice old castle . The view from the tower is nice and you can see all the valley. We met a nice gentleman who tells us all the catle s stories.

Wander about in a not so well known but impressive walled castle with a great hall bedecked with midevil weaponry and some clothing. There are many rooms and battlements with commanding views of the surrounding countryside. A plot against William the first, the bad, was hatched within these wall eventually leading to the reprisal murder of the baron of the... More

this fortress is one of the most stunning ones in Sicily .. it is about 15 minutes on foot from the center of the city, where stops the bus from Termini Imerese central station... it looks a bit forgotten by local authorities but that also means there is no typical tourist crowd and noise and you have all this place... Allot yourselves a couple of hours total and work your way around the grounds of this magnificent structure, which appeared to be well maintained, before wandering inside the various rooms with historical artifacts. Wander out onto the patios for a great view, and ponder the possible uses for some of the odd rooms you will come upon. The parking is... More

We arrived at 6pm, with only one hour to spare, and were met at the entrance by an old man who was surprised to find 16 people from Malta visiting this place. What I thought was a tour guide, turned out to be the owner of a curiosity shop who had pamphlets to hand out, which meant wasting us more... More
