Went for a day trip out of London this weekend and did the coastal walk from Lulworth cove to the Smugglers Inn in Weymouth. It's about 7 miles in total and very hilly to start but it finishes with a nice flat walk that over looks the coast the whole way. Public transportation was great - London to Wool, bus... More

We visited this area of natural beauty after seeing a photo in a brochure and I have to say personally it is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. However, I will add that if you aren't the fittest or healthiest person it wouldn't be advisable to try to get to the beach. Myself and my son trekked... More

Durdle door is beautiful, but be prepared to fight for a spot on the beach! lovely for a dip in the crystalline sea (it's a pebble shore) and a look at the amazing rock formations. Lulworth Cove itself is full of beautifully quaint buildings, well laid out, accessible for all and very reasonably priced.

Absolutely loved Lulworth. Cove and surrounds are beautiful, stunning scenery, serene and peaceful, interesting rock formations, clear waters which were lovely to swim in (July), though bit of seaweed in some places. The Man of War Cove between Durdle Door and Lulworth is a fantastic beach and swimming spot. I really hadn't realised there was such lovely places hidden on... More

A beautiful sight and a perfect day out for a picnic overlooking the sea or a swim in the fresh and gorgeous cove.

What an amazing place. Loved the walk down to the beach, however the landslide has washed away the steps down to the beach, so t have the decent is a little precarious.

Loved the geology of this place. Quite a walk to Durdles door in the heat of the summer sun but worth it. Lullworth beach was too busy for me but Durdles door quieter. Swam through and dived off the edge of the arch. The sea was flat calm and clear! One of natures wonders in the area. Even found some... More

If you want to practise your reversing skills in a gravelly car park in a pretty dire condition, Lulworth Cove is the place to come. Short easy walk to the cove itself - but the cove is pretty unexciting: numerous places in the UK are visually far more interesting (and cheaper). A typical rip-off tourist trap. We were tempted to... More

Both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are stunning. The local museum is excellent and superbly describes how they were formed and how they will look in the future. They have not changed much since we first visited in 1986 however the number of visitors has increased which reflects the growing and well deserved popularity of the attractions.
