My father and I are both riders and booked the Day at the Farm tour with the two trail rides and lunch. Everyone at the farm was so friendly. They listened to our equine experience and suggested the appropriate horse(s). Our first tour was very small, only 4 of us total and we all had riding experience so we spent... More

So much fun! The scenery was beautiful, the horses were great, and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Would definitely go back again. Vigo Mortensen and Ben Stiller have been here! So you have to go. I will definitely come back on my next trip. While it was raining during the mid-morning, the ride back was clear and dry.... More

This was part of a 3 part tour - an hour of easy riding on Icelandic horses, about 2-3h total with ride, set up, etc. Very professional, about 25 people went out, 3-4 guides, not a challenging trail; i'm an absolute beginner and it was my 4th time on a horse. The saddle is way different from saddles i've used... More

We were warmly greeted then suited up. The staff provides heavy coveralls, helmets, scarves and gloves. No one was getting cold on this trip. They asked about our riding experience, put us with a horse, and off we went. I've been on plenty of horseback rides in the US but this was different. Horses are much smaller than what I... More

We are a family of four, a mother and two daughters, all experienced riders, and a father with baisc riding skills. I,as the mother, and s the one having made the booking, had my doubts. But,this was just 100% great fun. Of course it helped that the weather was superb. Though I wouldn't really recommend the ride for people riding... More

We booked our trip through an online booking agent and the farm picked us up from the hotel in a minibus. They dropped us off at the greyline bus depot on the way back as we'd booked this with a trip to the blue lagoon. We were given snow suits and riding helmets when we arrived. They sorted out those... So much fun!!! After seeing a bunch of icelandic horses on our Golden Circle tour (with Iceland Horizon) the day before, we decided we wanted to go horseback riding. Our tour guide, Dooley, recommended Laxnes. We booked it that night for the next day and chose the half day (starting at 2pm) ride. A bus picked us up promptly the... More

I loved the afternoon: picked up in Reykjavik by a cheery driver, kitted out with a full suit, helmet and gloves, introduced to the horses, matched up with one. There were dogs on the farm that followed us out on the route, even through the water. We walked for a while before being asked if we wanted to go with... More

I did a half day tour with Laxnes horse farm, where you ride the horses and that's it. They also offer a day at the farm, but for me farm life is nothing new, so I decided to go for the more compact option. After the hotel pick up we were met with a warm welcome from the family that... More

I did the afternoon ride in early April. It was windy and raining but that added to the charm (they provide rain suits and helmets). This ride was mainly an introduction to the Icelandic horse. I am not much of a horse person but I had a great time. The horses are fast and spirited and it's fun to charge... More
