lovely on a nice day

A lovely garden but needs a nice day. It was pouring with rain on this occasion but at least the lovely restaurant was quiet. A hidden and little visited NT treasure

This is the third time this year we have visited Courts, firstly to see the snowdrops, then the primroses and hellebores and now the blossom. The orchard area is beautiful at the moment. There are also tadpoles, newts, and minnows in the streams and ponds. New to us this year is the "Forest Schools nature activity area". Very impressed with... More

The gardens are lovely and larger than you first think. The snowdrops, crocus and hellebores were stunning. Had lunch in the tea rooms which was very good.

I love this garden, you can always find a quiet corner to watch the world go by, lots of water to look at. A garden for all seasons.

These are very interesting gardens with lots of intriguing breaks in the hedging leading to planting areas. The lily ponds were lovely and there was plenty of intriguing topiary to admire. There were boxed off areas containing circular seating and it passed a pleasant couple of hours . The only criticism we had that we normally visit NT properties for... More

22nd February 2014, at last some sunshine tempted us out and what a treat Courts Garden had in store for us! Carpets of snowdrops, mauve crocus, yellow aconites, pink and purple hellebores, bright red berries, and even a few early daffodils. Beautifully kept gardens, paths, and even the children were enjoying hide and seek in the trees. We have been... More

The Courts is perhaps worth dropping into for a stroll, but if you're not a National Trust member then I wouldn't consider it value for money at £7-8 per adult (price varies depending on gift aid option). There are free local parks in many towns which offer more scope for a pleasant afternoon. However, there are some beautiful trees in... More
