I live a few miles away and have never visited but heard about it from someone else. They were right - it is small but interesting and really set up for children to enjoy too with all the trees labelled on a map. the cafe is NOT to be missed - I highly recommend the toasted teacakes which took me... We were not expecting the Gardens to be of any great interest, located as they are in the middle of Holt village. Yet, when you walk through a narrow gateway you enter a world a million miles away from suburbia outside. There is a series of small gardens that make up the whole, each with its own points of interest.... More

This is not one of the most prominent of the National Trust gardens, but comes highly recommended. In the grounds of a large, old house, these well-manicured and stylish small gardens are beautifully laid out and well worth spending a lot of time taking in. There is an abundance of plants and trees to look at and a cafe in... More

Popped in here on our way back from Bath. Its a small area to explore and easily done in an hour, but very beautiful and very well looked after. I liked in particular how the hedges and trees were cut into "wobbly" shapes, and the orchard and apple lined arch over the paths. I agree on a beautiful summers day... More

We visited The Courts for my Birthday. Lovely gardens, very therapeutic feel. Lovely place to wonder gently and admire all the wonderful flowers, shrubs and plants, and even more delightful with it being midsummer. We stopped for a light lunch in the tearooms that are privately owned.. wonderful snacks ad light meals offered and the lemon cheesecake is a must. Very... More

We rejoined the NT this year and this was one of the sites we intended to revisit. The garden has shrubs, trees (small arboretum) and flowers in abundance. There are many water features and all the ponds have water lilies. Parking is just about adequate. The tea room serves a range of freshly made food. I was attracted to the... More

We are regulars at this wonderful garden and the tea shop (not NT) must be one of the best in the area too. You have to try the gateau - so many to chose from - and very good lunches, ice cream etc. The gardens are very well kept, on level ground so good for everyone. There are ponds and... More

If like us you find yourself travelling through Holt and you see a sign for another National Trust site you may want to stop and stretch your legs around these gardens. The gardens are well kept with a mix of formal gardens and a small arboretum. There is a small tea room offering fresh meals, cakes and drinks after your... More

A lovely garden but needs a nice day. It was pouring with rain on this occasion but at least the lovely restaurant was quiet. A hidden and little visited NT treasure
