We went on this trip on 29th jan. there were about 15 others on a well equipped and comfortable boat that could ily have taken twice as many. There was attention to safety and all wore life jackets. We were offered a drink at the start, a plate of fruit shortly afterwards, and an omelette for breakfast on the way... More

I had read many good comments about Raja and the Whales before deciding to book with him and Raja and his crew totally lived up to the positive reviews. He gave a substantial briefing at the beginning, giving information about the type of whales we might see and their behavioural pattens, but also he made clear his commitment to whale... More

We had an outstanding trip, and saw a dozen whales plus a pod of dolphins. The captain and crew clearly care for both their customers and for the whales. They carefully explained what they could and could not do while we were at sea ("we turn off the engine when we're too close"--part of a much more extensive explanation). Previous... More

The Raja crew are true environmentalists and professionals too. To see the joy and excitement on the face of Raja himself when we spotted the morning's first whale was proof. They take no short cuts in safety, their care for the environment, or in making this adventure special for all their customers. They seek not to disturb the whales wherever... More

& Raja is definitely the man to do it with! Many of the other boats chase the whales but Raja spends hours finding them & the whales came right up close to our boat - it was incredible. Tripadvisor advice was spot on TAKE SEASICKNESS PILLS THOUGH!

We booked Raja and the Whales having read the reviews on this site and we were not disappointed. Raja and his team were excellent (esp. Raja's younger brother) - they clearly have real passion for what they do. We could see 6 or 7 other boats in the distance constantly racing across the waters. That does not happen with Raja... Raja is dedicated to the whales and their conservation. He has become very knowedgable and so has his staff. We had snacks on the way out to see the whales and eggs and toast afterwards.

Id never been on a whale watching tour before and was a little sceptical at first but as soon as Raja and his crew took charge it was clear there was nothing to worry about. You can tell that Raja knows these waters like the back of his hand. Getting out onto the open ocean was amazing. I don't get... More

There are many whale watching companies in Mirissa, but we chose to go with Raja as he cares about conservation and wellbeing of the whales. We were not disappointed, Raja true to the information on his website, did not home in on the whales the way some of the other boats did. Instead he found another whale and we were... More

Overall excellent. we got back at 12. We saw whales, dolphins and turtles. The crew was nice and they try to disturb the animals and the environment as less as possible for that kind of trip. They have a passion for it. We were most of the time the only boat. It's still a boat and the ocean so be... More
