The staff looked after us very well on boat, offering us beverages, cut fruit, freshly made omelette sandwiches, etc. they were even handing out motion sickness tablets! We thought it would take about 3 hrs but took more like 6-so got a bit long even though the delay was due to waiting for whales. We had 8 sightings of blue... More

This trip was arranged by air travel guide and it was truly an interesting experience. When we arrived at the office and signed in. We just stood there waiting for someone to tell us where to go. Finally as we were the only couple standing around and someone did actually come and say are you going to the boat. No... More

Travelled 27th January 2015 Let me start off by saying I generally don't deal well on boats and this trip was no exception. I took a travel-sickness tablet before I boarded but I spent the first 3 hours of the trip standing at the front of the deck closing my eyes and holding my vomit in as the ride wasn't... More

Lets be clear, whale watching in Mirissa is NOT Eco-friendly... There will be 20-30 boats chasing a poor whale just for us tourists.... ...however Raja And.... are extremely sensitive; not going in close like many of the others, killing the engine when the whale comes up near us, trying to find whales where there aren't other boats, going out first... Wow, what an amazing whale watching trip we had with these guys. They travel further than most of the other boats and we were last boat back by quite a bit. It is a long day but well worth it. They are very considerate of the whales and do no chasing. We saw in excess of 30 blue whales when... More

The whale watching was great because these guys are careful and considerate of the whales and other sealife. On the trip we saw many other boats which would race to chase the whales before returning to the harbour. Raja and the Whales kept their distance and patiently tracked the whale we spotted. The reward for this care and patience was... More

After speaking to a few of the whale watch operators in Mirissa we decided on Rajas (despite some of the mixed reviews) and definitely made the right call. They are the first boat out in the mornings and usually the last boat back so it is a long day but it's worth it for the increased number of whales you... More

If you are going to do this, do it with these guys. They really know what they are doing, and they have a tri hulled boat that will help if the seas a rough and you suffer from sea sickness. Hey a great morning out. Hotel pick up is handy, along with breakie and drinks.

Impressive operation. Raja’s crew worked very hard and as a result we saw up to thirty different whales – plus a whale shark and some turtle love! It’s well organised with a level of thought not often provided in Sri Lanka: hotel pick-ups, seasickness tablets, fruit plates, eggs, cake, cold towels. The crew were professional, friendly, switched-on and cared about... More

Whale watching in Mirissa is a must and I would not go with any other company than Raja and the Whales. Such a professional service. The administration side of it was flawless, even picking us up from our accommodation. All the crew and office people are extremely friendly and professional. We were looked after from start to finish, with sea... More
