We booked here based on the reviews and were not disappointed! The whole experience was great and I can not express my satisfaction enough to show my appreciation. We had to leave our hotel in Bentota at 4AM to get to Mirissa by 6 and board the boat. First off, there is a lot of great information on the website... More

Great breakfast of fresh fruit and then cooked eggs, followed by an amazing whale watching experience. We saw about 15 whales and loved the professionalism and care for the whales the team displayed at all times.

Wow! We were so impressed with the whole experience from start to finish, the crew were knowledgeable, very hospitable & friendly. They provided snacks & drinks from start to finish which was a lovely touch. We weren't disappointed seeing numerous whales both blue & a Brydes whale, we didn't see many Dolphins but whales were are main objective. What was... More

Very professional operation. They are considerate to the whales and the wildlife, and know what they are talking about. We saw loads of whales and dolphins, you are given plenty of food and drink by the staff and even sea sickness tablets and wristbands (the Indian sea is surprisingly choppy....) Nice people, would recommend. Book via email through their website,... More

Firstly.. We decided to go do this whale watching on the Tuesday. On this day it's pouring with rain, so they leave us sitting on a boat for 1 hour+ before telling us they weren't going out for another 3 and a half hours. They gave us the option of waiting in their tiny office or taking your money back... More

Myself and two friends had read online that Mirissa is one of the best places in the world to see blue whales and, as none of us had seen them before, we were very keen to experience these magnificent creatures ourselves. We did lots of research about who to go with as we were aware that many companies 'chase' the... More

These guys really know their stuff, and they really care. I'm a scuba diver with 15 years diving round the world, so I was very much on the lookout for good & bad practice, and they were great, really good. We sailed with Raja's brother, who knows an enormous amount about whales, sure, but also a lot of peripheral information... More

I was initially apprehensive about going whale watching as it is something I have always dreamed of seeing, yet I was worried about disturbing the whales or seeing them being harassed. We chose to go with Raja as we had read good reviews on trip advisor and that they adhere to whale watching regulations unlike some of the other operators... More

Yes, Raja and the whales is on the expensive side compared to other operators but in our opinion worth every penny. The were well organised and professional at all times. Their passion for the whales is obvious and ensuring they are not stressed is obviously important to them (as it was for us too). They clearly genuinely want to create... More

Raja and the whales is a more expensive company that most for whale watching, we still went for this company as it was clear they were very much more ecologically aware than some of the other operators and they said they are doing research about the whales with IMO the international marine organisation, we were unlucky as at 6 when...
