We sought these guys out because of the good reviews we saw and were not disappointed. Although it was not the ideal time of year to see whales we had a great sighting of a blue whale (if we hadn't seen anything they would have taken us out the next day for free). They pick you up from your hotel,... More

What I loved about Raja and his crew is that they'll make sure you have a great time (bake you eggs for breakfast, are more excited then most of the tourist when they spot a whale and they're just really cool guys), but always respect the whales. Don't go for cheaper trips with former fisherman.

I appreciated this whale trip. The welcoming was very nice and as soon as you got on the boat, you got the seasick-pill (since the weather was not that good this day) and they served part of the breakfast. They also informed us where we were heading and they shared info regarding the how to drive towards the whales, the... More

All the guidebooks we read said you can't go whale watching in July in Mirissa. they are wrong. Raja provided a great trip. We saw at least 5 blue whales and possibly 7 but over a 30 minute period we saw them time and again. It was a very instructive trip and good to see his passion to move ships... More

The price is more expensive compared to our guest house owner offered , but the money is really worth it. The crew is very friendly and caring. The captain is experienced and explained to us what was expected. They keep the logs of the whale locations. We went today along with 3 other travelers. Although the monsoon season, if you... More

Totally worth the early start and there is year-round shake watching, although in July you expect to see fewer whales on average. Very informative and conservation-based approach. Good breakfast is included too. Their stand is on Mirissa beach.

There are many whale watching operators in Mirissa but Raja runs an ethical outfit. Having worked with the whales since he was a child he has a vast knowledge & an uncanny ability to find them - they almost come to him. He cares about the whales passionately & is involved in scientific studies & campaigns to help protect them.... More

Unless you feel like spending your day on a boat (which is nice but then don't pay that much, you can rent a boat for much less...) This is not worth it. The crew thinks they are god. They are definitely trained to look like professionals, but I wouldn't count on it. We saw some whales from far away. The... More
