We are very proud that we are recommended in the new Sri Lankan lonely planet and by so many users of tripadvisor. I can't expressed enough how pleased I am to have chosen Raja for my sudden whale-watching trip. My experience started with reading their reviews and browsing Raja's website. Everything is clearly stated on the page so there is no hidden catch or whatsoever. You have almost all information that you need. They definitely look like a genuine operator from the... More

Raja and the whales is apparently the best tour operator if you want to do some serious whale watching... Don't know the truth in that but we were either very lucky or in the hands of a great crew: we spotted 7 different whales!!! in the short (what seemed to be very long) ride.

Would recommend as a responsible locally operated tour guide. Easy to book, good communication and friendly staff. The trip was great and we stayed out until we had seen plenty of whales and dolphins. Other operators seemed to be much shorter trips and were also not following the whale watching guidelines so support this firm if you can. Highly recommended.

I visited Mirissa and chose Raja based on the reviews. The reviews were absolutely spot on. I visited when it was just off season in the beginning of May 2015. But it was the most Incredible experience topped off with great hospitality and care.To our good fortune we saw a big pod of dolphins and followed by a couple of... More

Overall, this was a great tour. The company works with marine scientists collecting data. The boat is double decked, and from the top deck not only was the view great, but we could watch the staff counting and noting GPS coordinates for different sightings. There was one tour guide who was the obvious lead - not only was his English... More

There are many tour operators to go with all advertising several different whales and dolphins to see and offering a free tour if no whale sightings are made. We booked with 'Rajah and the Whales' online from England as it claimed to be whale friendly and following the state guidelines to cause the least stress on the whales. For 6000... More

I would recommend this company in the first place because they seem to care and do respect the law concerning the animals protection, which makes them professional, unlike many other boats which seemed to be chasing the whales and did not respect the minimum distance at all. They took good care of us, making sure we would not get sea... More
