Come into our farmhouse store and enjoy a tasting! You can experience an apple cider, spirits or fortified tasting at $5 each. Proceeds from our tastings go towards our charity of the month. Pick up a self-guided tour map and explore the grounds. Our farmhouse store is nestled in the heart of the apple orchard. Our store is stocked with ciders, spirits, gourmet foods made by local artisans and small lot production farmers. The deli cooler is stocked with house made dressings, relishes, and sauces, which are made in our own kitchen. From nearby farms we have sourced items such as chocolate, spice blends, marinades, and artisan spreads. Our gourmet food items come from a collection of artisanal food producers from around the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, as well as the Okanagan. We have chosen products made by people with passion for what they do, just as we have passion for what we create! All of the artwork that adorns the walls of our store and bistro is functional and fine, lovingly produced by Vancouver Island based artists. We have painted textiles, bowls, glassware, willow baskets, local interest books, cider-scented soaps, wood carvings, and the perfect paintings and photography for your walls. All of our art is created by people who live close by and our wall and shelves are constantly changing with new products and creations. Great for all of your seasonal gift-giving needs! So enjoy a culinary tour of gourmet food items and art in our farmhouse store while our knowledgeable staff assist with your selections. They are on-hand to suggest the perfect pairings, whether it is cider, spirits, gourmet food, baked goods or art! We have you covered when it comes to your kitchen or dining table!

We drove from Victoria to Merridale Ciderworks on a Saturday afternoon. It took about 40 minutes from our hotel. The self-guided tour gives you some background information then the visit to the tasting room seals the deal. I tried the cider sampling and my wife tried the enhanced tasting. All together we got to sample 8 different selections. We ended... More

Beautiful place to visit in the fall just before all the apples are taken off the trees. They have a huge variety of unique apples and the grounds are manicured. You can walk around, read a bit about the cider/gin/booze making and take a meal in the restaurant. Do a cider/spirits tasting, the $5 goes to charity. Worth the drive... More

Visited on a hot August lunchtime & enjoyed the differing ciders on tasting. With an accompanying dog did not stay to enjoy the restaurant.

Having heard several positive reviews we visited for lunch on a Tuesday. The place was packed, so we decided to wait and were finally seated at 2pm. Then things deteriorated. Don't get me wrong the serving staff were lovely but having ordered we didn't eat until 2.50pm. Only 2 of our 4 meals arrived at that time, the next one... More

We wandered round site on self guided tour. Setting was lovely. We didn't tasted code on site as we had had enough alcohol that day. However took a bottle of traditional cider along with a huge apple pie home. Both went down a treat. Well worth a stop as an alternative to the nearby vineyards.

Great food!!! Great Ciders!!! We went with the intent of in and out. However we spent a few hours there. It's the kind of place you can sit back and relax at.

After a day of plant shopping, my girlfriend and I stopped by for lunch. We sat on the covered patio which had a lovely view of the orchard. We ordered the lamb burger and the beef burger both with caesar salad. The burgers were fantastic. The lamb burger was the best I have had in a long time. My friends... More

We live in Washington state and travel to Vancouver Island every summer. I've been visiting Merridale for about 10 years now because they have the best cider I've ever had. We can't purchase it in the states. So, I generally end up hauling home A LOT of it to last me through the year. Their Traditional and House ciders are... More

No free tastings just purchased 'flights'. They have discontinued the production of Normandie Cider as the sweet ones are more popular. I have to say I like their ciders better in the past - I don't know what's changed. There is a nice Christmas display set up around the farm buildings and in orchard - enough for a short walk... I am a Victoria local and a huge fan of the cider, so for the past 15 years a few times a year I venture up to Cobble Hill to spend an afternoon at the restaurant and in the orchard. It's a great spot with wonderful food. But the restaurant is so poorly managed that it takes your breath away.... More
