We live in Washington state and travel to Vancouver Island every summer. I've been visiting Merridale for about 10 years now because they have the best cider I've ever had. We can't purchase it in the states. So, I generally end up hauling home A LOT of it to last me through the year. Their Traditional and House ciders are... More

No free tastings just purchased 'flights'. They have discontinued the production of Normandie Cider as the sweet ones are more popular. I have to say I like their ciders better in the past - I don't know what's changed. There is a nice Christmas display set up around the farm buildings and in orchard - enough for a short walk... I am a Victoria local and a huge fan of the cider, so for the past 15 years a few times a year I venture up to Cobble Hill to spend an afternoon at the restaurant and in the orchard. It's a great spot with wonderful food. But the restaurant is so poorly managed that it takes your breath away.... More

Fun place to go with kids, especially during Easter, Christmas or other holidays when they really make the place festive. Adults get to taste great ciders and kids get to hunt for rabbits or leprechauns. You can take the self guided cidery tour, explore the orchard and stay for lunch. The cider's really good - organic, all made by hand... More

My friend and I had lunch at the Bistro yesterday. It was very good. She had the tuna and I had the scallops which were served on a bed of fennel and apple - delicious and beautifully presented. The servings were small and so we had dessert of apple pie a la mode which was delicious. It's a little pricey... More

I've been here twice now, the first time for pizza night which was amazing apart from the pizza's which were ok but not as good as I expected. My pizza was bland, and didn't have much topping, same with the other 3 pizzas on our table. But the deck and band were great and we enjoyed sampling the cider. Came... More

The venue is absolutely stunning! And you do get a bang for your buck when it comes to planning your wedding. But I found a few issues. There were minor issues the day of the wedding prior to the ceremony that the venue did not handle well and it was mainly due to lack of communication on their part. Rather... More

Cannot fault the service, the Christmas walk or the drinks.....but finding a rare pork belly on the menu I ordered in anticipation to be served a nouvelle cuisine sized portion more appropriate for a starter on a bed of underdone lentils, 7 bites to finish it, even more frustrating as the pork was first class. The desserts were superb and... More

Merridale Cidery is a great place to go for the food, ambiance, cider tasting, a walk around the orchards or browse in the store. Or do all of it which is what I usually do!! They make great cider, wonderful bread and their onion relish is to die for. If you visit in the spring you can see the apple... More

People are still talking about how beautiful and amazing our wedding was. We cannot begin to thank the staff and owners of Merridale for helping to create everlasting memories. From start to finish, the day was perfect. Being able to find a venue that could accommodate our ceremony, reception, pictures and wedding night was truly a stress relieving experience. Thank...
