We arrived for this demo along with tons of other buses and unfortunately they had already started before we got there so we missed part of it and did not get a good vantage point to see and hear much. And being that I'm a petite lady, that made it that much harder. We then moved to the yard where... More

Although I was skeptical at first, I was astounded by what I witnessed. Before the demonstration began, Brendan Ferris made certain everyone was positioned to clearly see and hear; once he was satisfied he began. Ferris has actually trained his sheep to walk beside him and pose for pictures. As each sheep had its turn in the spotlight, Ferris gave... More

We stopped here with a tour group, and it looked like a big tourist trap. It was wonderful. There are a huge number of types of sheep. Who knew? Owner Brenton Ferris owns the sheep farm, and he does a great herding demonstration with his Border Collies. There are many wonderful things to see in Ireland, but we found ourselves... More

A highly informative demonstration, delivered in a jaunty way, by a very garrulous farmer who should consider doing stand-up comedy for a living. I was really not interested to know anything about the different types of sheep though, as the dogs' performance was impressive enough. It wonder if any of the tourists who were herded off the tour buses knew... More

What an interesting stop along the way. After the owner gives a short description of the various kinds of sheep in the area, you then move into a covered viewing area while he shows how he controls his dogs and has them move the sheep to various places or separate a few sheep from the rest of the group. This... More

We knew the Tour bus would stop for a demonstration of sheep herding but had no idea of how much we would be able to see. I thought it would just be a side of the road attraction for a quick glimpse. Wrong. Shepherd Brendan Ferris with his curved walking staff entertained and educated us for about 45 minutes with... More

Quiet and peaceful. Share the site with the sheep. So much history - I wish it could talk to me. Not much signage but you can tell what's what (kind of). Would go again. Just make sure you watch where you walk.

My group of 33 people visited here to watch a short demonstration of the sheep dogs at work herding the sheep and it was amazing. Those dogs couldn't wait to get started and it was fascinating to watch them respond to the whistles and signals from the farmer. There is also a wide variety of sheep on display which you... More
