This is both a fun and educational look at both the Thai culture and elephants. Our guide, a lovely and charismatic young lady named Eye who had perfect English and really knew her stuff, introduced us to Thai coffee, rice picking, how to de-husk a coconut and turn it into coconut oil, how to trap rubber from a tree, and... We chose Siam Safari due to its welfare of the elephants. The mahouts treat their elephants like relatives and stay with them for as long as they are at Siam Safari. My mahout was called Jumbo!!! He was hilarious and found it very funny when my vertigo kicked in. His elephant was 24 but one is 50. We did the... More

If in Phuket then this a must do, it's half a day - it's ethical and hugely enjoyable. Our hotel organised it -we were picked by a very kind friendly driver and driven air. Con comfort to the sanctuary. The sanctuary is government sponsored and ethically sound - our guide - Sao was hugely informed young woman and a real... More

I didn't think being 6 months pregnant i would be allowed to ride on top of an elephant, but i was wrong! I had always wanted to experience this for myself and the stuff at the safari were very caring and made sure i was well looked after. They gave my husband and I an older elephant that was calmer... We did the 4 in 1 afternoon tour today after reading previous reviews, as we didn't want to partake in any tours that would not look after the animals, and have their best interests at heart. The tour is great, we got to see a Thai curry cooking demonstration, coconut and rice demonstration and a short ride with a water... More

This is a lovely day out - actually a good half day. Siam Safari combines a showcase of different traditional Thai food growing and preparing, with an introduction to elephants and a short jungle trek on elephants. Very well organised, lovely guides and very interesting demonstrations on working with buffalo, growing rice, cutting coconuts, cooking Thai curry and the training... More

I had researched Elephant rides in Phuket and just about all of the things I had read recommended visiting Siam Safari. The staff are friendly and look after the elephants well, plenty of room for them to move around and are NOT chained up (unlike other elephant safari places in Thailand). It felt weird putting your trust into a massive... More

My wife and 2 young sons had a fantastic day at this elephant camp. The tour was educational and informative, and their genuine care and welfare of the elephants was evident. A must do!

We did the 45 minute elephant trek. I was skeptical at first given I'm not a fan of most forms of captivity but when we were taken to see the baby elephants I was amazed to see how freely they could move around, no chains. Just a horizontal bar between us and them. I understand elephants need a lot of... More

I went here on a Holland America cruise line excursion. It was the highlight of my trip. I knew we were going to ride elephants, but was not prepared for the warm welcome, informative, interesting glimpse into Thai life we would experience there. First the coconut station, then the cooking information, then the ride demonstration, an oxcart ride, thai coffee... More
