Sure, the bus will drop you right off at the entrance to the tunnel to the elevator that used to carry one of the world's most terrifying dictators in history... for a price. Last time I checked, American soldiers who took the Eagle's Nest didn't get dropped off by bus - they hiked up the mountain. The walk is not... More

Even trying to purchase a ticket was much more complicated than it needed to be. Poor signage, large crowds walking around aimlessly trying to figure things out was just the start of a truly average experience. Once tickets were purchased (and very expensive at that) we still had to wait 30 minutes for the next available bus to the top.... More

Go early to avoid crowds. It's cold in the tunnel walking to the elevator so you might need a sweater or light jacket. The view of the valley below is wonderful. It's a small building that is now a museum and restaurant. Didn't eat there but the tour guide said the restaurant is expensive and isn't very good. Not much... More

Directions for non-German speaker were useless. Showed up on my own with family including 81 yr old mother. Don't want a bunker tour because my mom can't handle hundreds of stairs - just want to go to the top. Where to get tickets for that? Wander around to find Kasse 1. Been in line for 40 minutes watching the ticket... More

We went to the Eagles Nest on a misty overcast day so we did not get to see what I can only imagine are stunning views from the mountain top. However the valley below and the ride up to the top did offer some amazing views. The building itself is a lot smaller than I had imagined. A good portion... More

Took the 9am bus from Salzburg. Hot day and very crowded. Lines everywhere. To the buses, to the elevator (it's just an elevator), back down etc. Not cheap. On top of bus fare, it's another 16e to get to the top. Apart from a tourist trap restaurant, there's nothing to experience other than the views, which were good but not... More

The visit is more about the view which is the best in Bavaria. However the main point of visiting is supposed be an insight into a dictators life. Without the tour which costs extra you don't get this or get to see any of the tea house interior. So without it it's really just the view which to be honest... More

We were here with a tour group. You must see this if you are at all interested in WW2. We did not eat in the restaurant but it looks good. Great views. Tunnel and elevator to the place is original from the war. You can walk through the whole thing rather quickly. Try to do some research before you go... More

I went there on my Holliday because my dad is interested with WW2. But it isn't a boring museum at all. I was amazed at the spectacular views across the Bayern Alps. The building itself isn't much because most if it's been turned into a restaurant. But a 4 minuet walk takes you to up to the peak of the... More

The tour has changed since I went in 1989. The history portion is in the Documentation Centre in the parking lot at the bottom and most of the Eagles Nest house itself is a restaurant and outdoor walk. We ate lunch at the restaurant overlooking the valley and it was beautiful. I loved what they did. After all Hitler hardly... More
