Stunning place to visit and better than most temples on Bali. Hidden away tranquil and with buildings you can actually enter. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens and views to the sea. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit after so many other quite disappointing Bali sites. Free to enter but donations are going to a new even bigger bell construction. Must... More

From the more tourist areas of Bali, Sanur, Kuta, Legian & Seminyak it takes about 2.5 hours to reach Brahma Vihara Arama Buddhist Monastery its situated in Banjar very close to the Banjar Hot Springs therefore its worth combining the two destinations. You can see the influence of the Hindu culture in the Buddhist temple however it is truly Buddhist.... More

Beautiful monastery located on the hillside, peaceful place to visit and light some incense and reflect. Don't forget your sarong and if you don't have one there are plenty available to loan.

The journey was about 3.5 hrs from Nusa Nua but it's really worth the visit when you arrived at the temple. It's very quiet & you feel so peaceful once you step into the temple. I saw quite a few individual practising their sitting/walking meditation.

The whole place is close to being magical. It's extremely serene and calm. On your way in you can get a sorong so that you could enter the temple. There's a beautiful, multi-level garden with many flowers, statues and places to meditate. There's also a meditation classes schedule. Supposedly this is the only Buddhist Monastery in Bali. Entrance is free... More

Observing this site and walking through it's tranquil spaces was a privilege. Sarongs available upon entrance, beautiful spaces as you continue your uphill tiered climb. Beautiful greenery, sights, and opportunity for stillness. Walk and see, or slow down and stay (various meditation opportunities throughout day)- a beautiful experience!!! The drive along local roads a great local experience too.
