When it comes to gardens, Westonbury Mill Water Garden isn't the most glamorous in the country, however it is quite unique in the character Richard Pim and his team have created. There is a great feeling of adventure as you explore the gardens and this is justified when you come across the quirky stone water tower with its gargoyles or... More

Low key quirky garden, ideal to spend a quiet afternoon enjoying the peace. Kind of reminded me of Portmerion with its follies. Watermill powered water tower/pigeon loft, water powered 20 ft high cuckoo clock, bottle building ... it's one man's personal interpretation and that's what makes it special.

If you want to visit an attraction with a difference, this is the place for you, the water powered structures which have been constructed by the owner are very interesting & great to watch, our favourite was the cuckoo clock, but there are many more to see & enjoy. Also if you are hungry a visit to the watermill cafe... More

After a meal at the Riverside Inn at Aymestrey, I didn't think the day could get any better. Well it did - we went to Westonbury Mill! The gardens are so beautiful - the plants blend so well together and it's lovely to see some different water-loving arrangements. The little paths snake and twist through the borders. Surprises await round... More

A lovely relaxing place to visit and the water powered cuckoo clock is great fun. Would like to build a wine bottle grotto but not sure my liver up to emptying the required number of bottles.

We were very excited about going to the Westonbury Mill Water Gardens as we have a small water garden of our own in our back yard - to gather some ideas and inspiration. There were plenty of great concepts and obvious hard work and care previously put into this garden, with some very unique, world class features! Unfortunately the garden... More

Hello Grant P Thank you for your review. This reply is late - today seems to have been the first day the rain has driven me inside from the garden! I appreciate your rating of the follies as being 'world class'. They have had a lot of praise and publicity but rating them as high as anything anywhere means more.... More

I was astonished to read the review recently posted by Jools D(19 August 2015),describing her experience at Westonbury Mill Cafe.Being aware of the enviable reputation for food and service established at the cafe over the last two years, and having many times enjoyed the stunning cuisine at the Hat Shop in Presteigne (formerly the establishment of cafe co-manager, Ruth Watson),I was... We really enjoyed our visit, the gardens are magnificent, very natural and full of fabulous plants and flowers, the ideas and areas where really well thought-out lots of design but with a natural feel and beauty. The use of huge plants to provide cover for secret pathways over streams was great, my 8 year old and teenage both loved the... More

Although the gardens are not that big, they are a delight. You can tell how much hard work has gone into making these gardens such a pleasure to walk through and the follies just make you smile and wonder at the workmanship that has gone into them! The café that is there is also very good - a hidden gem... More
