Harrison's Cave is a must-see on the island. In one visit you are rewarded with beautiful gully trails, information on how the island was formed (not volcanic activity like I would have thought), and of course the ultra-cool tram ride into the stunning caves, with underground lakes and trickling waterfalls. I liked that a family, ranging in age from 5... More

Biggest piece of advice - either get there on your own, via taxi or rental, or make sure the tour outfit you hire is good. We stupidly went through the tour desk at the Hilton Needham's Point and paid what I consider a fortune for what we were told was a 4 hour tour through Sunlinc to the caves and... More

This cave system is worth a visit - as long as you like little underground rivers, stalagmites and stalactites. The tour is conducted in a little electric tram thing that seats about 40 at a time. I think you cover about 1.5 miles over the course of an hour down there, stopping every so often to stretch your legs and... More

This is a Barbados treasure. Being American, perhaps I am a bit jaded with things like the Grand Canyon, The Rockies, and so on. Many of the stalagmites/stlagtites are formed in a phallic nature. My husband and I even joked about phallic formations in ponds of water and coming from the ceiling. We showed up for the first tour of... More

While Harrison's Cave pales in comparison to Luray Caverns, it is in Barbados and that simple fact makes it unique. This is a very "developed" tourist attraction with travel via electric tram. The excavation of the tunnels appears a bit extreme at times, to the detriment of the natural formations. The information provided in the walk thru exhibit, the video... More

This is the number one tourist attraction in Barbados and is government owned. There has clearly been a huge investment in the attraction to make it into an international visitor centre. There are basically three sections to the standard tour which comprise of an inter-active visitor experience, followed by a video. The tour through the caves is done very professionally... More

It's a wonderful and unique experience, something that i didn't expect to find on an Island. I liked not having to walk around the cave and being driven around instead.

You cant leave Barbados without going on a tour of the Harrison Cave. Cost approx $60BDS for 2 person First, you must listen to a 'state of the art' information audio and video system (approx 5 mins) Then your usherred into a mini movie theatre to view another video on the formation & discovery of the cave. Then your on... More
