400 meters drop on ice and freezing cold, but in China that's incredible.

China is the home of terrible customer service. Starbucks employees that don't smile or even know how to make a coffee, tiny 25 meter drop ski hills with brown snow that per hour cost more than Vail or Klosters. Substandard fake products and contaminated food are a regular. Don't attack me, it's the truth, nearly 15 years here, although there... More

A ski resort that is out of our expectation. Facilities and equipments are of high quality and well maintained. Ski coaches are also of high standard and reasonably priced for full day coaching. Kids enjoyed their one on one daily classes and the coaches were very attentive to our kids safety. The snow (although mostly man-made) were well maintained. After... More

Ok look, we've been coming here for years. It's the best in Beijing. But let's not give them a swelled head with 4 or 5 stars eh? Because let's face it while they did make some improvements this year during the off season there is still FAR to go. The snow? Meh.. mostly man made but ok that is not... More

Had our first ski experience in China. Surprisingly positive. First and most importantly; having been exposed to Chinese 'ways' for so many years we were very surprised that everything worked smoothly in Wanlong and (queuing)-behavior was exemplary. The ski resort is small. Fine for beginners/kids, less so for the more experienced (I read that Wanda ski resort near the Korean... More

We went to Wanlong for a quick weekend. The area got some natural snow the weekend before so much of the area are covered by nature snow (although the weather was on the warm side already). It was great to find a place to ski in November :D Nothing to compare to Alps but it is close to Beijing and... More

The weekend we traveled we had no queues for the lifts and the snow was soft, powdered snow. Well worth the trip if you live in Beijing.

The Wanlong Ski Area is fine small area for a two-three days holiday. The slopes are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers, but after a couple of days you have seen them all! The slopes are well maitained with a thin layer of artificial snow - suitable for skiing, but difficult conditions for snowboarding. The slopes are on the sunny... More

The skiing is adequate - sure this isn't the alps, but the artificial snow conditions are good throughout the day and the slopes & queues are quite empty. The food and surrounding service were good. The main issue is the lack of English info, especially prior to visit. We were in touch with one of the employees discussing this matter,... More

Family ski trip over a weekend by low-intermediate skiers. First of all, I should say that we have only ever skied in China so I can't compare to a major Western resort. Previous trips have been to Nanshan which frankly looks a bit pathetic in comparison! Wanlong is a huge resort with some small slopes for beginners, a couple of... More

This is a high end ski area just less than three hours drive from Beijing. Compared to close in places like NanShan, WanLong has very long runs and better groomed snow. There is one high speed quad lift to the top and a number of normal speed doubles. A number of mogul runs. There is a neat lodge at the... More
