steep walk up but worth it

The way up is pretty steep. My eleven year old had no problem going up the trail but I think it would have been a little difficult for my younger children. There is a bridge with a bench on it when you get to the waterfall. Very beautiful waterfall. There is a rock on the side of the fall that... More

Great place for hiking with family, tons of kid playing in the stream near by, then it got all quiet when you walk deeper in. There are camping and picnic around parking area, wish we had whole day planned at this place.

Juney Whank Falls is a scenic 90-foot waterfall split into an upper and lower section in the Deep Creek area of the park just outside Bryson City, NC. The hike to the falls is a moderate 0.8-mile round trip. From the parking area, head to the left to pick up Juney Whank Falls Trail. The trail is moderately steep, but... More

Unlike many of the beautiful fall in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park that can be a long difficult hike to reach, Juney Whank Falls trail is a very easy short walk. It is the best falls to visit for families that have smaller children that aren't up to steep climbs and long hikes. It is a small falls but... More

If you are up for a hike this will be a nice little falls to see. It was the shortest of the 3 falls in the area for distance approx .5 mile from the parking lot. The right trail is a little step so you may want to go the left side trail to get to it unless you like... More

Not overly impressive for novice walkers for us but still in the grand scheme of things, what's not to like in the Smokey Mountains?

Visited in fall of 2013 and the falls are peaceful and pretty. It was a relaxing hike up the trail and made for great photos.

The road to these falls (this one , Tom Branch and Indian Creek) was an adventure, as we took the road less travelled. My GPS had us take a 1 lane dirt road over some mountains instead of going through Bryson City, was a nice trip though. As for Juney Whank Falls, stunning waterfall. The steps leading up to it... Nice hike, about 3/10 of a mile. It was a fun hike and the falls were great to observe and photograph.

Several vantage points for pictures. Hike is a bit more difficult than the other two falls in the same area. The bigger loop is for folks who like hiking... take the shorter loop (0.2 miles) down to the mail trail if you don't like too much up hill climbing/hiking. Very photogenic and serene falls. You may even catch a deer... More
