Wairaurahiri Jet was really great. Wonderful drive getting there and you set off from Lake Hauroko. Weather was stunning and Johan and Joyce very knowledgeable and friendly. The trip down the river is stunning, stopping to check the traps which have been set to catch stoats, weasels and rats. These little devils kill the bird life so they are doing... More

Took a jetboat trip down the Wairaurahiri River with Johan & Joyce on their jetboat. What an awesome trip down this wild river. Johan in his wonderful "laid back" style entertained us with anecdotes and history of the area, culminating in a great BBQ lunch at the Waitutu Lodge. We checked their stoat traps on the way down and found... More

We weren't totally sure what the trip would be like, but it was a fantastic ride down (and back up) a very fast flowing rocky river to end up on the South coast of new Zealand. To cap it all, Johan, the driver (captain?) then proceeded to barbeque a meal for us. We saw and learnt about the wild life... More

I have been on a few jet boats but this ride was what I would term 'the real deal'. It was one of the coldest days at the time, with hail and freezing wind. I loved it though and visiting the area was amazing. Watch out for deer! I also love the trapping programme that Wairaurahiri Jet is a part... More

Our huge thanks to Johan for a fabulous day. Previous reviewers have said it all, this is a wonderful trip, regardless of what weather you do it in (cold and raining on and off when we went - that heated handrail was a treat!!). Trip was arranged at last minute (because we only heard about it the day before!). Johan... More

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you. We all had the most amazing experience with most of us arriving in from Australia. The day seemed to fly by with so much to see and do and we all enjoyed ourselves so much. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that we meet and we hope to... More

This trip was awesome and took us to one of the most remote parts of NZ. I organised this trip for 10 of us to experience the deep south of Fiordland and I highly recommend it. The guide Johan was a legendary kiwi character with a dry sense of humour and informative commentary, as well as being a boss when... More

Despite a bleak Fiordland day of hail, sleet and a biting breeze Johan skilfully negotiated his way down the high and fast flowing river to the lodge. With an outstanding lunch of wild venison, sausages and gourmet salads prepared by his own fair hands washed down with a nerve settling Otago white we were prepared for our return adventure. This... Thanks for your kind words. What a day!! Fiordland threw it all at us except high winds. Cool photo of hail stones bouncing about our ears. But we still all enjoyed the day. Cheers, Johan. More

wow 'every man and his dog should do this'!! its a trip I've now done three times and will again! it has everything and then some, regardless of the season. The most awe-inspiring scenery, amidst Fiorldland National Park less the rat race of boats and people. Lake Hauroko with its history, myths and mystic, the mist and snow capped mountain... More
