We did the Chembra trek on 30th April 2013. As advised we started in the morning, we got our entry pass at 7.10 am and started the climb from the watch tower by 7.30am along with our guide Renju. The climb up to the the heart shaped lake/pond took us 1hour 20 minutes and the height at this point I... More

Don't attempt this trek if you're not in good physical condition. It's quite steep initially, though it becomes slightly better later on. The climb back down is quite heavy on the knees. There is very little tree cover later on, so better start your climb early in the morning and get back down before it becomes too hot. Carry enough... More

Liked - Lovely tea estates and view point. Disliked - Bumpy roads for almost 2-3 kilometer. jeep is the best option for Chembra.

If you want to trek, do it early in the morning, post 2 pm, trekking route is closed. The road to the view point is quite bad. Was surprised to see tea garden extending into the forest. The view was good, might be in winter or early morning the view might be great, it wasnt one of the clear days... More

I went for a trek to chembra peak with my 12 year old daughter. The trek though tiring was an amazing experience. It is a guided trek and our guide was really helpful and encouraged my daughter whenever she gave up exhausted. We reached the heart shaped lake on the top in and hour and half. The view from there... More

Brilliant views... A great trekking adventure to have.. surrounded by plantations. Ideally reach there by 7 AM for capturing the best the scenery has to offer.

Not beeing told before, they wanted to charge 1000 ruppies for first person plus 200 rs ever next person plus 50 ruppies for each camera just to hike to the peak. But there is a way through the tea plantage on the back side where they did not charge. We had to find that though on our own.

The trek is steep and adventurous owing to the slippery turf. The half-way lake is good but the views before you reach the lake are worth cherishing.

The trekking to Chembra peak view point gives you the feeling that you are travelling across Munnar. The vast tea expance and excellent location makes it a perfect match. Though we dint go to the top point we trekked to the view point through the route inside Coffea Aroma Resort which is at the foot hills of Wayanad. It was... More
