When I arrived at Kunming on 30 Mar this year, the airport shuttle bus tour guide discouraged us from going to Yulong Snow Mountain as she said that at this time of the season, there would not be any snow up at Yulong Mountain. Do not trust this airport shuttle bus guide. My journey up Yulong Mountain confirmed that there... More

Prior to coming up to the gondola that brought us up to the 4500 metre plateau, we watched a show by the Naxi people with 500 performers which was so impressive! I came here four years ago and this show wasn't on then so really glad i caught it this time! After the show, we caught the gondola up to... More

Snowy peaks, pine forests, and pleasant walking trails are a welcome respite from touring in the cities of China. The air was crisp, the tourists cheery, and the transportation via shuttles and cable car efficient. Reminded one of a national park visit in the US. The mountains are truly magnificent.

Good place to visit during trip to Lijiang. Very beautiful sceneries though a bit pricey on the cable lift (RMB$180 per adult). I travel with my family (2 adult and 2 kids age 6 and 9) to there on April 2015. It was a cloudy day and was snowing up there. The top was a bit cold there but my... More

A visit to the area is not complete without a trip up this mountain. It takes a whole part of a day and is also expensive but well worth it. The cold temperature, clear blue skies, fresh air and rarefied air plus stunning views makes up for the long trip and queues. The cable car ride was fun and quick.... More

We arrived at the mountains soon after lunch and we spent 4 hours there, it could be more. If we had more time. It takes 30 min from LiJiang to the gate. The sight is AAAAA, so you can expect many people around. we were very lucky and no lines at all, but our guide told us that few days... More

We were doubly lucky with our visit to the Snow mountain- the weather and hence views were gorgeous and there wasn't to many people around we arrived early, as we left around noon there must have been 300-400 coaches parked and our guide told us that was a quiet day! After arriving the route is somewhat lengthy- firstly waiting for... More

Well, not really, but it felt that way for me. I am from the Bayous of Louisiana in the United States. I traveled with my Chinese girlfriend to the mountain. First, the best thing to do is go to the tourist pavilion in the old town. They have bus tickets for 40 RMB/person. It may be a little hard communicating... More

Do go if you like waiting in long queues Don't go if you like peace and tranquility on the mountain Do go if you like paying all the way to the top Don't go if you are trying to avoid the hoards of shouting tourists Do go if you are happy to be told where you can and can't walk... More
