The whole area is very nice. And the three mountains are truly majestic. It is definitelly worth a visit, and to my surprise it hasn't been turned into Disneyland yet. However, it upset me that first (mandatory) bus ride wouldn't drive all the way to the end of the road even though the bus ticket is already a rip off... More

Some recent updates on Yading. It is still as beautiful as ever, despite being there in the non-optimal season. Best season is supposed to be late Sep to early Nov if you want to avoid rain and having a great skyline to admire the surroundings. We stayed in Daocheng before heading to Yading. Great town and you can get most... More

Our tour guide would drive and dropped us at the Yading Nature Reserve entrance. Upon purchasing our ticket (RMB 150/person), we can choose to walk 200 metres or have donkey ride(RMB 40/person 1 way up) to Long Long Ba (a scenic area, 龙龙坝). From Long Long Ba, there is a tram service (RMB 50 return), to go into the Luorong... More

There are spectacular, pure, beautiful snow mountain. People at there are gentle and kind. Although in mid April (Summer) the tree and grass look dry but it is still good view(may be great in Autumn). In Yading reserve have bus service from Riwa village pass to Aden village, Long thong ba village, and final arrive inside Yading entrance (take 1.5... More

I think almost everyone know about "Shangri-La", but have you ever visit there. There are lots of location claiming they are this beautiful place, but my pick will be still Yading. Tough trip from the road and it should be resolved by now while the new airport completion, but still created a memorable memory for my to talk with, as... More

it takes 2 days to arrive daocheng from chengdu by car, and 1.5days from lijiang in yunnan. the journey is not easy, but when you get yading, the views will make you feel that all hardship is deserved. but road construction has been taken place in many places in daocheng, so that the air is not good because of the... Have just returned from a second visit to the Yading Kora - a spectacular 6/7 day trek around the sacred peaks of Mt Chanadorjee, Chenrezig and Jembayang. I first visited in 2012 on a research trip and was awestruck by the natural beauty of this route so I decided to return with a small group last month. The trek is... More

The natural beauty was truly remarkable. The trip, as others have noted, is difficult but worth it for the once in a lifetime experience - breathtaking views everywhere one looks. We were there in earthy June and there were hillsides of native rhododendrons in full bloom; this, on top of the always spectacular views to the holy mountains. The trip... More

Where in all the world is to be found scenery comparable to that which awaits the explorer and photographer! ---Joseph F.Rock 1928. The core zone of Yading nature Reserve---the sacred mountain: Nianqing konka Risumgongba. It means in tibetan“our protective sacred mountain where the snow will never melt.” The mean part are three snow-clad peaks completely separate from the each other but... Tough trip indeed. I was a newbie to outdoor activities but I survived fine. We managed to see the first golden beam of sunshine at the snowy mountain top in early morning and visited all three holy lakes within a day. The experience was more than admiring nature scenery but very spiritually cleasing, I found. There is basic accomodation but... More
