Some reviewers suggest going early to miss the crowds-we went about 5 and it was mainly people worshipping rather than tourists sightseeing. The base of the Buddha is still being constructed but that doesn't distract from the awe of its size and the spirituality of the place. I think a visit is a must if you are in Phuket

Wonderful view, I recommend early morning because the heat is terrible in noon. A nice viewpont for picture taking.

Good to visit if nearby. Costs about $48 for return journey from Karon. Most taxi drivers will wait for an hour to take you back. A lot of construction happening at present and probably will e for next year or so

What else is there to say other than it's BIG! More of a tourist trap than anything else, but the blessings were great to experience. Worth making the trip just to see it up close.

This is still a work in progress after 10 years , with around 5 more years to complete . All money comes from Public donations . The Budda is on top of one of the highest points on Phuket island and is visible for miles around. It truly is spectacular .

This did feel a little like it was set up more for tourists than religious beliefs but i like that it brings people from around the world to create such a great monument. It also gives some understanding to Buddhist beliefs and the teachings of Buddha which show this as a truly peaceful religion. The view from the top is... More

Get a bike and go there the mountains, the air, the views, and the beer in a bar going up..., you will see from the top the beautiful views..., and then after that we enjoyed a beer and a sandwich in a bar with a monkey!
