I think it has taken about ten years to get near finishing. Now they are doing the infrastructure around the monument. The road up to the BIG BUDDHA was only dirt when we first went up there now it sealed with plenty of parking.Lots of sightseeing with Elephants... Recently went to see the Big Buddha. Fantastic!! Situated on top of a hill, beautiful view. You could go under the Buddha and see how it's made and what they are still renovating. Fascinating!

Situated at the top of the mountain, Big Buddha seem to be watching all over Phuket. A great overlooking view of the island. It is a must see on a day trip. A great piece of marvel build from small slabs of marble, financed by the big hearts of people visiting the place. Purchases from their shops and donations helps... More

Fantastic views, nice that you can sponsor a marble tile with your message on it, still a work in progress, but still pressive.

The big Buddha is big, well worth seeing. You can buy a chime & hang it up with so many other chimes, you can write your name & a message on it as well. The view is spectacular as it is high up on the the mountain. There are other monuments & statues to see as well, a must visit

The Buddha itself is amazing. The sheer size of the statue astonishing. It is still being constructed and all merchandise and donations directly contribute to the complete construction. The donations itself allows the public to leave a momento to be used as part of tbe construction. For 300 baht, you can write on a tile which will be used in... More

Rather impressive but still under construction. Worth a look and has some excellent views over the rest of the island. Keep in mind modest clothing must be worn but sarongs are free and available to cover knees and shoulders if needed.

Will be given shawls or fabric to cover up with but is definitely a must see. Gives wonderful views as well as being able to appreciate the size.
