We were quoted 1400 baht to get there from our hotel in Karon Beach.....we had gone further than that the day before and only cost 500baht, rip off!!!! But anywhere you go along the main road you turn to the hills and can see the Big Buddha

They are still working on building it, but it is almost done now. Great views - worth getting here for sure

A lot of work went into building this huge structure. It was built block by block. It was quite interesting to see and it looks like they are not finished construction of the facility. The views from the site are nice also.

A must when in Phuket. Beautiful view when you reach the temple. but it takes 1 hour to ride from Patong to the peak. and the road is a bit ups and downs hill. require great scooter driving skill. Very relaxing and nice place.

The view was unbelievable!!! You could see everywhere!!! Note to woman: there is... More

Still some construction ongoing but great to compare with the Big Budda on Lantau Island, Hong Kong - throne in Phuket certainly has no steps - drive straight up to it! Lots of opportunities to help find the construction from contributing to tiles, prayer bells or just souvenir shopping. The chanting monks adds that extra experience.

We had originally wanted to attempt the hike up to BIg Buddha, but our day went longer then planned so we jumped in a taxi and got up to the site just before sunset. Up there you have an exceptional 360 view of Phuket. This was breaktaking during sunset. Although there is construction still going on, it did not ruin... More
