We hired a car from Karon & drove ourselves quite easily to the Big Buddha today. It's not really walkable, but the drive up the hill is lovely with lookouts, elephants and monkeys along the way. Even though this temple is still under construction, it's still an amazing sight. There are amazing views of the surrounding bays and provinces, as... More

Good vantage point of southen Phuket island. They're still doing construction but good way to spend a few hours. Girls - remember to dress with below knee attire or you'll be given a sarong to borrow to wear.

The trip up the hill is worthwhile on its own. There are elephants, monkeys and cafe stops all the way up. The view at the top (and on the way up) is breathtaking. Must buy a tile and write on it when there. Something to outloast your trip. You must also give a donation and get a blessing and band... More

We went to see the Big Buddha as part of a driving tour we had planned for the day. As mentioned in my previous review of the Access Resort, we’d organised this with our good friend Laem. When you travel to the Big Buddha, you’ll know you’re getting close when you start the drive up the mountain. As you get... More

Went up to the bug Buddha on our last day in Phuket. What a peaceful amazing place. Being able to buy a bell and hang it under Buddha was something special we were able to do. The views are great.

There was a bit of construction when we went, but not disrupting the view. Easy to rent a car at the resort and drive over - then spent the day touring around in the car to get our $50 worth. A bit of a hike up, but not too bad. Probably too hard for elderly and not stroller friendly. You... More

Went to see the big Buddha and the view is amazing up there. It is a great place to go and see as the information that you are able to gain here about the how they built the Buddha and the reconstruction of the Buddha is amazing.
