I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Aquila. The value is fantastic, the food is great, and for the proximity to Cape Town and no hassle, I couldn't ask for more. I would highly recommend doing the horseback safari, as you can go many more places.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. The game drives were great and there were so many animals to see. The guides on the game drive were extremely enertaining and knowledgeable. The guest houses were absolutely quaint and very private. The grounds themselves were so beautiful and there weren't too many guests when we stayed. The entire staff at Aquila were... More

Visited with my husband who is not South African and after reading reports where it was said it was like a zoo, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. I visited Kruger Park a lot growing up, and there is obviously nothing to compare to Kruger, but for a first time non South African, it is a great start. Accommodation... More

Only the lady at the reception desk impaired our overall good impression. Cold, impersonal, uninterested - really a pity! All other personal very friendly and attentive. Nice idea with the elephant towels and hot water bottles. Very motivated and engaged rangers. Accommodation and catering services incl. welcome drink excellent.

The lodge and operations are very good , the food awesome and standard accommodation good in summer but cold in winter unless you know how to use a coal stove. also the hot water supply to the room does not sustain two people in a short time. The game viewing for us was average in that we are spoilt safari... More

We were booked in over the weekend (05 & 06 July 2014). I was expecting a less than perfect experience due to it being out of season. Although the price was expensive being a "local" - what we received was totally worth every cent I spent. We were greeted by a staff member on arrival, with welcome drinks and a... More

Amazing weekend away. Everything was perfect and it ran smoothly. I also love how there are conservation projects to protect, save and help the animals and nature reserve. We saw everything we were hoping to see and the only reason why I gave it 4 stars (would of given 4.5 if it had that option) is because it is very... More

My wife were celebrating our one year anniversary this year and I decided to surprise her by doing an overnight at Aquila. The game reserve was beyond what we thought it would be and absolutely loved every minute of it! It's not only affordable, but everyone on their team was really amazing. Surprisingly, we also got to go on 3... More
