This place is silent & less crowd as compared to Patong beach. The night life is worth enjoying as the cafes & hotels provide for light music and a perfect place to dine.

Its ok to spent a couple of ours there but don't expect too much. There are a lot of people who want to sell u something but if u wave them nicely off they do not bother u. Just remember they want to make a living too. We noticed that in Katar there are a lot of people from Rusha.... More

Off season means westerly winds - rough swell & rubbish was ashore. The pools are a better option and are plentiful. Walks on the beach are great though, especially at sunrise.

This beach was clean and the water was also clean. It was protected from winds and very pretty. There were not too many hawkers either which was a relief. Even though it was monsoon season and we only went there twice it was a pleasant beach to be on. There was also shade from trees which was good.

Fantastic Beach with nice waves during the rainy season, that allow you to go surfing. Plenty of shops, restaurants and everything you need.

A very beautiful beach with stunning views and nice clear water. However there is a lack of facilities such as showers to wash the sand from your feet. There is also no toilets close by except from a restaurant a few metres away which charges for use. I think it would be better if there were sun loungers and proper... More

My family and I stayed in Kata Noi, a small and quiet town directly next to Kata and Kata Beach. So, needless to say we visited Kata Beach very often, and enjoyed all our experiences there. I can only speak from experience during the low season, July 2014. The beach was always fairly busy, with a good number of people... More

Our first footsteps onto kata beach were into dog-poo. Our shoes, towel, any place we tried to sit down it just stank. This beach is not cleaned properly, is covered with rubbish and not at all pleasant.

It was a nice beach and the water was beautiful and warm BUT there was rubbish everywhere - on the sand and in the water. Lots of vendors trying to sell you stuff which did get a bit annoying sometimes.
