The beach here at Kata is cluttered with trash up on the shoreline due to currents, location and such. The water itself is crystal clear and with nice waves. It's a great place for families and seems safe and calm.

A quite beach ideal for strolling along the sand on the edge of wave after meals. Affordable eateries and drink shops are nearby if you feel like having a quick and cheap meals.Apart from trashes and weeds, it's still a good and tranquil beach.

I am sad to report that the beaches in Kata and Karon are filled with trash! It lines the high tide line, trash even hit me while I was in the ocean! Somehow I got black tar on my foot between the ocean and my towel on the beach. After that, I could not bring myself to go in again.... More

Great wave water sports and kite surfing. Surf was up and beach can be dangerous in rough conditions

Due to currents and tides, rubbish washes up on the beaches. Although locals try to do a beach cleanup, i still didnt feel comfortable walking barefoot here.

It was a windy day, sea was a bit rough but still beautiful. A good place to take a stroll and relax.

Beautiful beach, be warned you have to pay for beach chairs and will be irritated by sellers on the beach.

We went for a swim at Kata beach and really enjoyed it! The water was clean and there was life guards. Be careful and swim between the flags, apparently the sea can get rough here. Definitely worth a visit, whether it is for a drink or a swim!

Look into the weather and tide schedule before making plans- what can be a calm and clear bay turns rough, cloudy and dangerous with the tides and weather. Even so, it was beautiful and very fun to dash against the waves- there was a very limited area in which we were allowed to swim due to rip currents, so quite... More
