Lovely beach with good water and sand quality. Shade areas along the upper sand bank. The beach has been liberated since the Thai Army removed all the sun lounges from the beach. Good for swimming, while medium to large waves offer surfing opportunities during certain times of the year. A really good place to watch the sunset.

Forget Patong! stay in Kata! its quieter, cleaner and not as sleazy are busy as Patong. Plus the beach is beautiful. I would never stay in Patong again. Great time, people and place!

I traveled at the start of the rainy season and let me tell you, I am a good swimmer but there was no way I would have swam in the ocean. The rainy season brings huge rips and makes the beach too dangerous to swim. You can still walk along and enjoy the pool at your resort!!

There seems to a be a different feel to Kata beach with all the chairs gone . And from what i hear may not return. Although it was wet season ,we spent several nice days at the beach . The waves were fun ,but be cautious of undertow. Looking forward to another swim in November.

... for beginners perfect waves and conditions. Guess from ocotber on the water is flat like a chicken breast according to the local surfers

This is a small quiet bay. The beach is clean and a great place to watch the sunset. Good for swimming although you do have to be aware of rips. Highly recommend both Kata beaches

The beach is nice. Although there are some rocks here and there which can cause bruises. Just try to move away from those. Waves are quite big sometimes. Perfect for First time surfers. Good place to practice. Not crowded at all. You can also do para-sailing at a cost.

One of the best Asian beaches I've been at. Clear water, little rubbish, sandy bottom, not too deep and moderate waves in September.

Great view, white sands, warm waters and turquoise colour sea which was not over populated during this period. It felt almost like a private beach which had not been discovered and ruined by tourism.
