I write this review as an open minded traveller, but one that travels either on her own or with other single female travellers. If you are looking for fun and excitement - Kata beach is not where you are going to find it. Karon either. Kata is almost all Russian. Now I like all nationalities, but it's not like you... More

The walk to kata beach is discusting along a path beside a dirty smelly canal full of rubbish. The path is also falling apart in the concrete slabs. The beach has the usuall hawkers trying to sell you stuff and food.

Big enough that you can find a spot away from the crowd. Some decent snorkeling near the northern rocks (just for fish, no corals). Not too many roaming vendors. Water is warm and surprisingly clear for a sandy beach.

It's a nice beach in low season, especially with a small child, as the waves are not too big. However unfortunately it gets too crowded and dirty in high season

Kata is one of the more quieter laid back beaches in Phuket. Just 15 mins south of patong you come here to get away from the noise and madness. It's a long beach but not to long, good for a peaceful walk and calm enough to swim in. The northern end has BBQ delights on offer to eat and good... More

Soft sand, clear warm sea and big waves... our ideal beach, no sunbeds allowed which keeps the beach lovely and clean.

It`s a perfect place to spend your day! My hotel is just a stone throw away from the beach so I often enjoy the view. Kata beach is quite clean and less crowded compared in Patong you can also enjoy water activities such as parasailing, they also offer the thrill of jetskiing and more.

Beaches really don't get better than this. It's a huge, sweeping bay, ideal for a long, relaxing walk or for lying out on the sand. At the one end there's a cluster of really good restaurants that serve lunch and dinner. At the other end you'll find a collection of delicious street food being cooked just off the beach. Plus... The most beautiful beach in Phuket! White, soft, sandy beaches with a clean clear blue ocean. This was such a good change from the busy Patong beaches - the sand squeaks under your feet and you aren't bombarded by loads of people trying to sell you things. Worth spending a couple of days here to enjoy this beautiful beach!
