Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

Spectacular, grandeur that has to be seen to be believed. The Palace, the gardens, the fountains, there are not enough words to describe it all. Being on a guided tour with SPB Tours we were able to bypass all the queues and had easy access and ample time to explore it all.

If you are touring St. Petersburg you really should include this place in your itinerary. Well worth seeing if you like Russian history and architecture.

We were there early in the morning since we specifically ask our tour operator to get us early entrance tickets. That kind of ticket allows you to get in before the official opening hour, but I do not think you can get those if you buy your ticket yourself. But this is a must if you do not want to... More

The fountains are like nothing I've seen before. The gardens are lovely, and we had a wonderful day to enjoy. I would have liked more time to simply enjoy and wander.

We were there at 11:45 to find out that we have to wait 2 hours for the time slot reserved for foreigners. We were lucky we found out right away, but the Spanish couple we met said they waited in line for 1.5 hours until they were told at the booth that it was the line for Russian citizens. No... More

I went on this trip on the spur of the moment which probably wasn't the best idea; nobody speaks any English (why would they?) and signage is only in Russian so it was difficult to work out what to do. You get the hydrofoil from pier 4 opposite the Hermitage. Tickets are 750 and you can only buy 1 way.... More

Peter the Great planned Peterhof as the summer residence of a sea king. He needed access to the Baltic and wanted to create something better than Versailles of France. It was opened at his presence in August 1723. The most famous feature: The fountains. TheTsar himself contributed to the unique engineering system that supplies water to them, without a pump.... This park is simply amazing. Most stunning one I've visited. Starting with the grand staircase and fountains, you really kick off the experience! wander down the steps and explore the sheer endless park with it's paths. Find the big pool of water with the nice house on the other end, find the shoreline of the finnish bay, find the stray... More

Main palace surrounded by intricate fountains and beautiful parks and being located right by Finnish Bay is absolutely stunning. It rivals those in France. Absolutely a must see!

this palace is spectacular, inside and outside. We booked a tour and the guided visit was very strict. The whole group had to stay together at all times and only 30 people were allowed in any room at any time. The gardens have amazing fountains and I wish we could have stayed longer to see more of it. If I... More
