Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

My second visit here and loved it just as much as the first. Totally impressive Palace and gives a great insight to the life of the Zars. The gardens and fountains are not to be missed. Take plenty of time here, in fact you need at least 3 hours to see everything.

The palace itself is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. But wait until you stroll the grounds and see the fountains! One is more beautiful than the next and some are whimsical and funny--fountains that look like pine trees in a grove of pine trees for example or those "tricky benches". A must see!

travelled by catamaran from St Petersburg and you get an amazing view of the palace from the water and the canal entry. Gardens are spectacular and water canon display well worth waiting for the opening time. Small palace gives an idea of living conditions of the day which were clearly quite basic which only adds to the magnificence of the... More

Impressive park and fountaints. Visit main palace is worthwhile, although when it's full workers almost push you to speed up. That's why i don't recomend paying for the audio guide. Just reading wall messages and hearing group guides literaly stacked to your back is enough

Peterhof or Petergof ("Peter's Court") is famous for its palaces and gardens - laid out on the orders of Peter the Great and sometimes called the "Russian Versailles." The area was extensively damaged during World War II during occupation by Nazi Germany. Reconstruction efforts began almost immediately following the war, and are still continuing. Nevertheless, what you see is breathtaking.... More

Peterhof in Summer, crowded with visitors of course, we went primarily to see the Lower Park, so passed on getting tickets for inside the Grand Palace (although it is a very splendid looking building from the outside). From the top of the bluff the gardens & fountains are a great sight, all classical golden statues, chequerboard floor & a channel... More

Visited this as part of a guided cruise tour and was not disappointed. The palace is truly amazing and another example of outstanding restoration work after it had been mindlessly blown up in WWII. It was extremely busy when we went, so had to queue outside for a while but the wait was worth it. Also, we were rushed through... More

A wonderful palace with incredibles gold statues in front. Pretties gardens with flowers and fountains. Beautiful place to stay all day long with family or for a romantic date. Is easy to go there by hydrofoil, kind of 30 min. Cause the weather was very bad when I was there unfortunately I had to leave earlier then planned. So the... More

The gardens are worth the (small) trip from St. Petersburg. You will see very impressive fountains spread all across the gardens. Dont forget to walk all the way down to the Baltic Sea coast. There is a small cafe in the area where you can sit for a while and have a light snack or a coffee.
