Machharmo is one of the best and safest place along the way to Gokyo Trek at 4410-4460Mtrs. The place where one can get well acclimatize because the travelers can find many option for it.. there is small hill named machermo peak where we can see Everest and its peripheral mountain as well. Macchermo is a small little village consisting of some lodges and a medical post & porter shelter in Gokyo valley. A compact mountain settlement where an afternoon can be well spent at the Machermo Sherpa Rescue Post learning about AMS ( acute mountain sickness). Run by vollenteers from the UK. Also nice walks up the valley to the waterfall at its head.
