I tell EVERYONE who goes to PR to go see Captain Paco and the monkeys. I am going for the second time soon. A rare and amazing experience.

Paco was 73 when he took us out in July of 2014, but he has the spirit of a teenager. For a mere $40 per person, he took is on a 3-hour tour of Monkey Island and showed the best spots to snorkel. When we got back into the boat we were served fresh sandwiches and mangos. He knows local... More

We are the couple mentioned by the previous reviewer, and absolutely agree that Captain Paco is the best way to experience Cayo Santiago (Monkey Island). I called to set up the trip without much notice and was greeted warmly each time on the phone and received a follow-up call to confirm. The directions Captain Paco gave were spot on, and... More

Captain Paco is the best! I don't even know where to start. Our family of four met with Paco for a morning tour. There was another couple going out with us. Right away Paco was very friendly and entertaining. It was a little choppy heading out to Monkey Island but actually the kids thought is was like riding a roller-coaster.... More

Captain Paco was a lot of fun to spend a few hours with. He grew up in the area, and before we got going on our trip over to Monkey Island he talked about its history and Puerto Rico in general. The trip over was smooth and safe, and because some of the members of our group were prone to... More

Our group of 11 ranged in age from 12 to 70 and everyone had a good time. Captain Paco was very friendly and noticed right away that a couple of people in our party were worried about sea sickness. He took extra care to make sure we spent most of our time in sheltered water. The oldest member of our... More

tripAdvisor seems to have no where for me to review an option for seeing Monkey Island that doesn't involve Barefoot Travelers. I'll post it here, and see if it makes the cut. There's a guy who operates out of the Makiito restaurant in Naguabo Play named Frank (Paco) Lopez. He runs a boat out to the island, and provided snorkles,... More

I travelled with my family of 2 adults and 5 kids ranging from ages 8-15. We all LOVED our monkey island trip with Captain Paco. This was a combined snorkeling /Santiago 'monkey' island trip. It was a fun and 'different' experience. I would recommend to all. It was not a 5 star excursion andf if you're looking for a gorgeous... More

Our kayaking trip to Monkey Island was cancelled due to the high winds. And that is the best thing that could have happened because we ended up having a fantastic time with Captain Paco on La Paseadora. Somehow, it was very unclear that there was another/better way to see Monkey Island. It seemed the reviews here only showed a kayak... More
