This is a great attraction near Monterrey, but be prepared cause this excursion is at least 8 hours of getting wet, walking, rappelling and jumping from waterfalls. This excursion is dangerous and you will have to go with a excursion company, also they will give you all the gadgets and accessories needed for the trip.

Make sure to bring snacks- it's a loonng day! But very fantastic overall. My boyfriend took me as a surprise and I was really scared of the cliff jumping. If this is your case don't worry because almost all of the jumps are optional. I ended up jumping all of them anyways (even the really big one). Near the end... More

I have experienced this canyon and other variations over 12 times. I have also been to the Swiss Alps to the Chili Schliere Canyon. I recommend exploring wet canyons in person, but if you are in to videos, here are two of mine. This is a place that not many people know exists, it is magical and you wound not think is there. It is amazing! Best adventure ever! You have to go well protected though. Make sure you've got insurance. The place is dangerous and not for people who are not in their 100% physically, be aware that it takes at least... More

A friend working in Monterrey took me on a day-long, guided trek through Matacanes. It was one of the best outdoor adventure experiences I've had. If you're fit and not faint of heart about jumping off 15-foot cliffs into deep blue water, rappelling, and navigating through underwater (though not pitch dark) caves, go. The guide we had spoke broken English,... More
