We were a crew of "boat people" so this was perfect for us. Small boat, personable crew. Knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife. Dinner was amazing! Caught right off the boat..can't get any fresher than that! We had the shared accomodations but it was no big deal..shared bathroom always seemed clean. Our friends upstairs in "bunk" cabin may not have... More

After extensive research we decided to book our Doubtful Sound cruise with Real Journeys. Doubtful Sound is incredible; it was sunny when we left and drizzly when we returned so we got to see it in both good and bad weather. No matter the tour you book, definitely make a visit to Doubtful Sound a high priority. We had considered... More

We did a tour from Queenstown with Real Journey's. We were picked up from our hotel for a coach ride to Manapouri. From there we sailed across the river (45mins) for a further coach trip over the Wilmott Pass before boarding for a 2.5 hour cruise. It is an incredible 13 hour round trip but time flew by - the... We did the overnight cruise with Fjordland Expeditions and it's a really long activity - especially since it rained the entire time. The area is beautiful and definitely worth seeing but 2 days, including lots of transit time to get there is not too desirable. A day earlier we took a helicopter flight over Doubtful and Dusky sounds and that... More

We did the overnight cruise with Fiordland Expeditions. It was sheer bliss. We had the whole fiord, including every arm of it, to ourselves. The 2 crew looked after us, whilst we took in the stunning scenery. The clouds and mist hung low on the hillsides, which just added to the atmosphere of the place. In the morning, before our... Doubtful Sound is picture postcard beautiful - and well worth the 'effort' to get there (from Manapouri it's a boat trip across Lake Manapouri then a coach ride to Doubtful Sound).

It was one of the highlights of my New Zealand trip. It was amazing from start to finish. We began with the ferry ride across Lake Manapouri which was beautiful in itself. It was cold due to winter time but that means the boat wasn't at full capacity and we had plenty of room to move around. I had a... More

We went with Fiordland Expeditions and they were absolutely amazing. There were only 5 of us on board and it was such a personal and intimate cruise. The food we had was really really nice. Sean dove down and got us fresh Cray fish for dinner and we had a bit of a lesson of how to eat every bit... More

Amazing experience ----magical. Loved it. We were on a small boat, only 12 passengers and 2 crew. It worked really well and all contributed to an incredible time.
