Very interesting and good organised trip. All three parts - boat trip through Manapouri Lake, bus trip and Doubtful Sound cruise are all the time commented by crew with plenty of information. We were lucky because we had excellent weather and boats were only half full. With full capacity it can be a litlle crowded. As well by worse weather/visibility... More

I would like to thank Clint and Jen for making my time at Doubtful Sound extremely memorable. I had the pleasure of learning how to fish for the first time, I saw dolphins trying to race with the boat, they were extremely playful that morning, kayaking was great fun, all the waterfalls and mountain views were stunning and I even... Deep Cove Charters are highly recommended for an experience on Doubtful Sound. We visited with hosts Chris & Kate who looked after us. Kayaking, magnificent scenery, rare & beautiful wildlife, great fishing. The meals of freshly caught cod, crayfish and venison were cooked to perfection. Chris's local knowledge made the experience all the more interesting. We saw weka, crested penguin,... More

Milford Sound may be better known, but Doubtful Sound is a complete jaw-dropper - and the very best way to enjoy it is with Real Journey's overnight cruise. The boat is a purpose-built cruiser that has sail assist (more for aesthetics than actual sailing, as it has no real keel in order to be able to sail in both Doubtful... More

Absolutely fabulous trip, wonderful crew, stunning scenery, penguins, dolphins, fishing, kayaking, eating and relaxing...if there is one thing you really have to do while visiting NZ then it is the overnight trip with Fjordland expeditions....thanks guys! Laura

In agreement with many of the other reviews, if you are deciding between Milford & Doubtful/day vs overnight, the Doubtful overnight cruise is the one you want to be on! In Milford, we were one boat in a conga line of others, and it felt like we were being taken on a whistle-stop tour to tick the boxes. It detracted... More

We doubted for a long time between a day and an overnight cruise and in the end we went for the overnight one. We picked the right one. The cruise was absolutely amazing and we had such a good time. The food, the staff, the accomodations on board and the beds were all good. Oh I forget the doubtful sound.... More

This was a trip well worth going on. The natural beauty of the fiord is stunning. The trip was booked through Real Journeys. It was very well organized and the staff were super. The meal we had was like dining at a 5 star restaurant . Even though it rained through most of the trip, it was well worth going..
