Early morning start from Manapouri. Travelled up the Lake, as the sun came up. Very pretty sunrise over the water and peaks. Late morning disembarked at Power station and then boarded a Bus (Go Orange) and headed into the Mist to travel over the Wimot Pass. Unfortunately mist did not clear for us to appreciate what was probably a spectacular... More

The overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound with Real Journeys is an experience not to be missed. The cruise starts with a boat trip across Lake Manapouri and then a bus drive over the Wilmot Pass. One then boards the Fjordland Navigator, which sets off across the sound. Everything was extremely professional and organised. The commentaries were interesting and the staff... More

Several friends who had ventured to New Zealand before us had advised that the best Fiordland adventure was to Doubtful Sound. The one time we changed our month-long itinerary (devised by us when still in Canada) was to take the overnight cruise with Real Journeys - as it turned out, one of the wisest decions we made on the entire... Had a lovely day despite the rain, although the rain did add atmosphere and I managed to get some lovely photo's. It was a long trip with different parts and although quite expensive we felt it to be good value for money

Visit the remotest and most beautiful part of NZ with an overnight boat trip in Fiordland National Park. Small boat to Lake Manapouri, bus across Wilmot Pass, and board a lovely small ship with simple but comfortable cabins. Utterly majestic landscape with a manageable (small) number of tourists and expert, laid-back guides. Kayaking or boating in the evening, then out... More

There are 3 or 4 companies that do an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound and they are all very different!!! Do your research and choose the best one for you. We didn't research too much and were very disappointed with Fjordland Expeditions. Our main complaints were: 1. The food - not very good and served extremely late 2. The activities... More

We recently spent 3 weeks in NZ with many different experiences but without doubt the overnight cruise with Chris and crew on Seafinn, not forgetting George the seagull of course, was the highlight! A truly wonderful experience, slightly more expensive than other trips but worth every cent. Sit back, get involved, watch out for the dolphins or kayak a bit... More

We had been recommended to book this experience by some good friends in UK. How right they were! Initially you board a boat travelling across Lake Manapauri, taking your pre-paid picnic. This, in itself was quite delightful. We were then transferred onto a coach to travel for a further 45 minutes or so, travelling on a gravel track, in anticipation... More

This cruise was done by Real Journeys right beginning to end. After the absolute commercialization of our Milford Sound cruise, this cruise with hardly any other boats on Doubtful Sound was idyllic. --Beginning at Lake Manapouri Real Journeys Center. Easy checkin and comfortable place to wait for boat to take us across Lake Manapouri --Relaxing one hour boat ride across... More

We loved the Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise with Real Journeys. It's quite a journey to get there in itself with the cruise across Lake Manapouri and then the bus trip over the Wilmot Pass to get there. The cruise was excellent, food fantastic, our cabin was lovely, staff were great, scenery awesome.
