words just simply describe this fantastic experience from pick up at Queenstown to return to Queenstown- simply a wonderful experience- overnight the level of professionalism - courtesy and customer focus is a standard others could only aspire to we had read on TA reviews that if it rains - the journey is inspiring - which turned out to be 100%... The overnight cruise on Fiordland Cruise's Southern Secret was amazing. After being escorted on Tracknet's bus from Te Anau to Manapouri and Real Journey's boat across Lake Manapouri, John, the Captain, met us to drive us across the Wilmott Pass to join the Southern Secret. We were welcomed on board with a lovely buffet lunch of salads and Lobster Tails,... More

Wonderful scenery in an uninhabited wilderness. There are so few places like this left in NZ that are accessible to everyone. The boat trip across Manapouri was a a wonderful revisit after 35 years. Stories about the construction of the road across Wilmot Pass added to the wonder of the view from the top. At Deep Cove we were met... More

Can't fault this one iota. From go to whoa, the whole outfit is extremely well run by wonderfully friendly and hard working people. This was the highlight of our trip, you really should do this overnighter. Room was fantastic, as was the food, and of course, the scenery and wildlife are world class. I couldn't rate this outfit/experience more highly.... More

We took the overnight cruise and it was the BEST. The accommodations on board this vessel was excellent, the crew was very nice, knowledge and VERY hard working. The food was excellent...and the chef was traveling with us. The nature director Sim was very nice and knew Doubtful Sound from the tips of the mountains to the type of fish... More

We did the trip in early spring (September) and got quite lucky with the weather. Staff was excellent, trip itself was perfectly planned by the company - kayaking, some swimming (for the brave at this time of the year), magnificent nature, a seal colony and the most beautiful sunset ever. We even got lucky and saw some dolphins in the... More

Fantastic voyage into Doubtful Sound. Even though the weather was a bit rainy on the first day, this just added to the drama of the mountains. The ship was spotless and really well maintained. The crew were jolly and helpful and the food was great. Really couldn't fault it at all. This was the overnight cruise.

A well organised trip with Realjourneys. We did it starting from Queenstown so an early start! Every member of staff was helpful and informative and very professional. Unfortunately we missed the trip to the power station on the way back as we were last off the boat and the coaches going there were full (maybe a system of checking people's... More
