We had a gentle day. Cruise over Lake Manapouri to visit the power station then by coach to Doubtful Sound. Tour of the hydro electric scheme was interesting and the tunnel engineering amazing. Loved the cruise...spectacular vertical rivers and the calm of the water, seals basking, then lovely forest colours as the afternoon faded on the return bus ride. However,... More

Not cheap but never the less a quality overnight trip, excellent boat, cabin food and crew. The weather didn't help however the skipper and crew went out of their way to show us what they could. Very knowledgeable guide. The opportunity to go on a tender and get a close up look was well worth it.

Recently returned from a fantastic overnight cruise through Doubtful Sounds with Real Journeys, on the Navigator boat. A wonderful experience from the moment we left Manapouri with well organised transport arrangements and friendly staff. The boat itself was excellent with good, clean facilities and the quad share cabin was good fun to share with friends. The meals were very tasty... More

Lovely relaxing day. The bus driver/guide from Go Orange was excellent. The guide on the Real Journeys boat was also very good. The free hot chocolate was excellent and the packed lunch good value and more than we needed.

If you prefer small groups this is the one for you. The crew made us so welcome we felt like special guests rather than paying customers. My magic moment was kayaking, my husband's was eating kina. The scenery, the serenity, it is so hard to describe, you just have to do it !!

We had a great time on our overnight cruise. We loved that doubtful sound was super quiet (we were the only boat) and having a nature guide on board who provided lots of interesting commentary. There were a couple things that we didn't expect on the cruise that we thought were nice touches: fresh muffins on arrival, soup course after... More

Just an amazing experience. Deep Cove Charters is the best small group experience you could hope for. Captained expertly by Chris who knows the sound like the back of his hand and shares the history of the area. A very safe and comfortable boat. Tasty meals, including a welcome crayfish lunch which really sets the tone for the next 24... More

This was are most memorable trip during our 7 week stay in New Zealand. We were trying to decide between a trip on Milford Sound or Doubtful. Everyone we asked, including locals, said that if we could, then the overnight on Doubtful would be unforgettable. We chose Deep Cove over the others because it was a smaller boat taking a... More

Stunning scenery.Bus trip was fantastic too with a great commentary from the driver.Forgot to order lunch but cafe at the pier obviously caters for those who are slightly dyslexic with the online booking
