Small, one-room museum, with artifacts from the eruption of Mount Pelee. Not great looking on the outside, but the inside is clean and air conditioned. The short walk to the jail helps you fully grasp what the lone survivor felt like. Not-so-fancy restrooms in building next to the parking lot (running water, but otherwise no more than the essentials).

I think an infusion of tourist dollars could convert this minimalist museum into something really fantastic. This should be done, because the story of St. Pierre is spectacular. It just needs to be told.

This museum focuses on the eruption of Mount Pelee in 1902. The museum offers insight to the town history around the time of the eruption and artifacts/remnants are on display for viewing. No pictures are allowed inside the museum. Walk a block away to the old theater and jail afterwards.

For those who have the time to drop in, this is very insightful and worth dropping in. The imagery and the remnants of this event are only a sneak peek into the reality of the harm that a volcano can do to an entire community.
