The Chateau les-savigny is well worth a visit for anyone, not just men who are interested in “boys toys” although those that are, will be in for a special treat! The grounds around the chateau are full of vineyards and fighter jets… there’s also a building full of older racing cars, and there are hundreds of motorbikes. There is a... More

Knockabout Chateau and enormous collection of every boy toy you could possibly imagine - motor bikes, racing cars, tractors, jet fighters, helicopters, fire engines. The owner, who was also a pro racing car driver was obviously a wee bit eccentric! The Chateau itself is nothing special compared to the many others in France but the sheer magnitude of the collection... More

There are two chateaus on this site and both are filled with models and actual cars, planes, fire trucks and motorcycles. There is also a place to taste and purchase wine. The grounds are quite nice to walk around as well. The best part were the war planes, but the other collections are interesting as well. My only negative would... More

We received a tip at the Abbaye de Maizières that we should consider visiting the Chateau and its extensive collection of aircraft, cars, motorcycles, fire engines and tractors. It was unbelievable! We visited the chateau and vineyards and enjoyed a wine-tasting.

I re-visited the Chateau on the 18th August, and then on my way back to the UK to stock up with wine on the 24th August. I have come to know the owner, Michel Pont, over the years, and for an 82 year old he still has great enthusiasm and drive. He is immensely proud of the fact that he... More

Found via Google, just wonderful mix of winery, planes, motorbikes, cars etc etc, the buildings themselves are amazing but if you are in to aircraft then its worth a trip, the guy in the reception was very chatty, purchased some wine but not tried it yet, only down side is that its very sad to see some classic airframes exposed... What a wonderful place ! The chateau is a really lovely old building & interesting to see but the extensive collection of old fighter planes is staggering, not to mention the collections of racing cars, motorcycles, fire engines & bicycles. There is also the vineyard to see & wine to taste & buy, so something for everyone ! It is... More

My 6 years old boy adored the visit (and dad too): fighter planes, sports cars and motorbikes !!! Great collections to discover with the family on a sunny day. I understand why some people might want additional explanations and might be disappointed in the visit of the castle which also hosts additional collections... nevertheless it is a great day out... The site is owned by a former racing car driver, and it displays his huge collection of old planes, fast cars, motorbikes and fire engines. It's also a vineyard and we had a lovely tasting, buying a few bottles at the end. Kids will probably love the transport on display, and parents might appreciate the wine tasting at the end.... We learned of this chateau while seeking out day trips in the Burgundy region of France that would hold the attention of our two boys, ages 5 and 7. Wow! Our children have been asking to return every day since! The chateau and vineyard are beautiful, but the massive collection of Abarth autos, vintage motorcycles, bicycles, tractors, fire trucks and... More
