Nicely kept gardens, with a long history. See the office building of Lord louis Mountbatton, commander of the South east Asian allied forces during the WW2. Tip - Get a buggy ride, Worth the money as you get to cover the entire garden and the driver acts as a guide.

The Orchid house here offers a captivating display of exotic blooms of Cattleya, Dendrobium, Arachnis, Oncidium, Vanda and their hybrids, several hardy tropical orchids including the largest orchid in the world (Grammatophyllum speciosum) which produces flower spikes up to 2.5 m long and the green orchid ( Coelogyne meyeriana) can also be seen near the orchid house

Botanical garden is beautiful, but entry is very expensive at 1000Rs ($8). Big trees are really amazing. Seen thousands of Macaque monkeys over asia, but these ones loved posing for pictures, got some great shots. The 'flying dogs' (big fruit bats) come out at dusk, will recommend that you plan your visit that you are still around for thousands of... More

I spent 5 hours here wondering through the garden and reading. It's a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. I suggest taking food (picnic) with you. There is a cafe which has the basics though not much to choose from if vegetarian.

These botanical gardens are a real treat for nature lovers. The variety of plants is amazing, and sprawling lawns make sure you'll be at peace with your surroundings. Special attractions like Orchid gardens, fernery, palm avenue, etc. are a real treat for photographers. Must visit polace in your Kandy stay, but make sure to go with a loaded camera and... More

If you're a nature lover then it's worth a visit. But if you're single you'll see a lot of young couples making out behind the trees or any benches in shades you find. Other than that, variety of plants will definitely be the eye candy for you. Coffee in the cafeteria in great lawn tastes good there's also lavazza coffee... More

Loved every bit of visiting this place. Hidden right in the Kandy, is this garden which surprised me with its scale of size and greenery. It was simply refreshing to walk here and the kids enjoyed them thoroughly.

Huge garden with a wide variety of trees, plants, flowers, etc. It is very informative and there is a lot to walk and a lot to see. One can spend an entire day or two or more to see the entire garden. They also have a suspension bridge over the river which is quite exciting to walk on. A must... More
