Get the forest’s different perspective, take a close look from above! You can be eye to eye with the birds and animals of the rainforest while sitting comfortably in the seat of our Swiss-engineered aerial tram system. Gliding smoothly through the tree tops, you will experience firsthand the sounds and peace of the deep tropical rainforest. One of the Gamboa’s tour guides will accompany you to describe the flora and fauna that you will see. The 1.2-kilometer ride culminates at a hill top where you have the opportunity to visit the Observation Tower. After walking up the spiral ramp, you will discover a panoramic view of the Chagres River, Panama Canal, Embera Indigenous Village, and the Town of Gamboa. All surrounded by lush mountainous rainforest. Recommendations: comfortable clothes, binoculars, water. Departure times: from Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays for maintenance

We hadn't actually planned to take the tram but thought it would be a nice break from bird watching. Well I was blown away. Each tram car has its own guide and the story of the tram development (by a Canadian company) is told. Wild life pointed out. The walk to the tower and up 10 flights on a ramp.... More

This was a highlight of a Costa Rica and Panama Canal tour, and there were many highlights on that tour. The tram makes frequent stops - every time a car loads or unloads at top or bottom. That is great because it gives you more time to try to spot things. Only five passengers permitted per car plus a park... More

We did the Gamboa tours along with a tour of the Panama Canal last week. I highly recommend this tour. The aerial tram ride is great. It is so quiet traveling through the rainforest. You see quite a few animals and the view of the Panama canal is breath taking. We also did the river ride into the Panama canal... More

Even though I enjoyed this tour, The tram was about 5-7 minutes to a walking path. Then you walk up an observation tower and hang around using time up. Then back to tram for return to startng point. Thought I would be on tram for entire tour.

We had a great day seeing and learning about Gamboa. Our guide was knowledgable and had an eagle eye seeing wildlife! A little pricey but worth it.

This resort features a restaurant, a boat ride on Lake Gatun and a tram ride through the rainforest canopy. The aerial tram ride was fun and is really like a ski lift for six people. We had a great guide who went out of his way to show us trees, flowers and wildlife. Once you get to the top of... More

We enjoyed the aerial adventure but were disappointed at the lack of wildlife. We saw one iguana and there was an anteater wandering around the entrance to the tram. The views, however, are extraordinary and the resort property is inviting, comfortable and a wonderful buffet lunch is available (pricey).

We took the trip to the rainforest observation deck. It gives one an interesting perspective of the rainforest -- it doesn't display much wildlife or many bird-sightings, however!

On the tram ride we saw Toucans, a small wild cat, a sloth and a cayman. The tower at the top of the tram ride provides an incredible view. It is nine stories tall and you can see a native village from there as well.
