I hadn't ridden for years and my partner is a beginner but as soon as we arrived I knew that we were in good hands. Paulo picked us up from the hotel and drove us to his house near the entrance to the National Park. Paula took us then to the stables and spent quite a bit of time choosing... More

Being middle aged and creaky, my husband and I expected to find this pretty difficult and need lots of help. But Paulo is such a good instructor and the horses so patient and gentle, that within half an hour we felt like experts!! The ride was along a beautiful trail, and supported by Paulo's enthusiasm and encouragement, this was a... More

For sure nobody should miss a such experience. It was for us the first time riding but everything was so easy and natural due to the great professionalism of Paulo. He is also a genuine connoisseur of Madeira geography and history and enjoys to share with his guests during trial ride. The forest is incredible rich in picturesque views plus... More

Fantastic must do while you are in Madreria. Very welcoming and friendly couple that made us feel right at ease as it was our first time on a horse. This was the best day of our holiday as we got to see the mountains in Maderia on horse back. It was truly beautiful in the mountains and we had great... More

This is a really unique and beautiful way to see the nature in Madeira. Paulo and Paula are very welcoming and friendly, and picked me and my boyfriend up from our hotel. We had a ride with Paula - she was very helpful and friendly, and told us lots about the nature and history of Madeira, and was very knowledgeable... More

A different way to see Madeira and you don't need to have ridden horses before to do it. Paulo and Paula are experienced horse owners and riders and take great care in matching the horse and the ride to the riders ability. Great scenary if its a clear day but take a light weight waterproof just in case. Oh and... More

My partner & I booked our hack a day before attending. We had spoken to Paoula on the telephone & she was very informative & asked some vital questions ensuring we had a safe & enjoyable time. She collected us at 9.30 from our hotel reception & drove us to her stables giving us a brief history of the villages... More

We were picked up promptly at our hotel by Paulo for the short ride inland to the stables where we were introduced to the horses and our rides were selected. I road the beautiful, if a bit cheeky, Vivaldi and my husband (who is less experienced than me) road the gentle Apollo. We booked the 3 hour trek which went... More

Before arriving at the stables I was slighlty nervous about doing this as I had no horse riding experience. When we got to the stables Paula spent time explaining what to do, and let us use the practise area where you can get used to riding your horse before going out on the trail. The horses are all very well... More

Don't be afraid to go if you haven't been on a horse before. Paulo and Paula picked us up from our hotel for the short journey to their stables and on the way they discussed with us which horses would suit us best. The trek along the Levadas was enhanced by Paulos knowledge of our surroundings, his patience was tested... More
