San Lorenzo has always been a great golf course but sadly it is looking a little tired and lacking in maintenance - particularly the tees. Although we usually enjoyed a good speed of play on our final day we got caught behind a couple of very slow groups and there was no marshal, or real interest at the pro shop... More

A round of golf took 5 hours 40 minutes. Course in bad condition - rangers don't do their job - slow play allowed - handicap certificates not checked - female Proshop attendant rude - moody and unhelpful. Wil not return - these guys are greedy - cut corners and don't listen to feedback - my advise - go elsewhere!

Expensive it may be, but it's one of the best courses in Europe. The pro shop staff are pretty miserable and you can't imagine the expression on their faces when I had the audacity to ask for new studs for my shoes! Tthe bar staff are pleasant. And efficient.

The course has seen better days, first played there when it was rated number 2 which seems like a life time ago. That said there are still a few good but I found the course over placed and a little overpriced given the state of the course and the jobs worth that they employ

Course was busy but lay was at a good speed. greens nice pace and after all the rain we had it did hold up very well going to need some money spending on some tee areas but worth the visit

Great experience to play San Lorenzo, the course was both a challenge and a pleasure to play, buggies are a must, the buggy bar comes round on a regular basis. the package we had included a buffet lunch in the patio bar overlooking the course, which was most welcome.

I've usually enjoyed my visits here (despite the abiding problem of holiday golf - the speed of play is tediously slow), since it's a challenging course in a lovely setting; the holes along the Ria Formosa are especially tough - and rewarding if you play them well. My only criticism of the design is that the last hole is much... More

If you have the privilege of playing San Lorenzo, you will find yourself reflecting in years to come on the quality of the course, the memorable setting of stunningly designed holes - particularly Amen Corner on the coastline, and the friendly professional support of all the staff who work at this great Club.

I played here for the first time in 1992, it was just as good then as it is now. It was challenging at the beginning but now I live in Portugal and have played there many times it is one of my favourite golf courses. The scenery is fantastic and the holes are very challenging, it helps bring out the... More

San Lorenzo has a huge reputation as a golf course and deservedly so, if you are into location . No golf course in the world could match its unique setting alongside a rare and outstanding nature reserve, with some magnificent sea views and a number of wonderful water holes to admire and conquer. The quoted green fee rate,in excess of €150 is...
