The views onto the palm beach with the river is really beautiful and unique. The beach itself however was quite disappointing. A bit dirty, crowded, windy and there is not really sand but small black pebbles. A lot of ships stop in the bay and drop off tourists and the water was not as clean as in other places we... More

Yes, it is a busy beach in August. Yes, the walk down is steep and the one back up is a bit challenging. And yes, the road to Preveli beach from Rethymno is quite curvy. But, but, but... once there, we enjoyed a perfect day swimming in some of the clearest waters we've ever experienced along the coast to the... More

There is a decent parking lot at the beginning of the trek down and it cost around 2EUR. The trek down was a bit steep but it wasn't so difficult because there is a well-set stairs there. Those who hate the stairs can make their own trail, which we did to add more adventure. there is also another way to... More

An absolutely must see place. Like anything else on the island. Words can not describe it. Rent a car and just go there.

The location is absolutely stunning. It is a little bit of trek to get here. It's about a 30 to 45 minute steep climb. However, once you get here you will not be disappointed as the location is wonderful. Sand on the beach is a little disappointing and water is cold but I guess that's normal at this time of... More

Lovely place because of the palm forrest in the background, After a walk in the forrest and a hike in the gorge, it is nice to have a swim in the sea.

This beach is beautiful! You drive by the monastery to get here. It is a long hike down to the beach but well worth it. There is a small Taverna on the beach and plenty of shade if needed. The beach is very rocky so make sure to bring water shoes, you will walk through a small fresh water lagoon... More

One thing those the so called experts don't mention is the climb up the mountain after your visit. The beach is mostly rocky. A taverna actually refills water bottles and sell them as new. On the other hand if you want a good work out and bring your own water, go for it.

Finding this place one has to follow monastery signs. Enterring the parking lot is charged by 2 €, from there you have to descend several rocky stairs, that is pretty steep and trains your footwear. On the top there is a brilliant view on the place. Uniqueness vests in a river meeting the sea, palms and beach. The palms along... More
