I know this beach received a lot of great reviews and I agree the view while walking very long distance down (and up!) the cliff is beautiful, but to be honest the beach itself didn't impress us at all. Its quiet small. Also if you go for a swim the sea gets deep very quickly, especially if the waves are... More

The drive from rethymnon south is beautiful, the last ten minutes are on unpaved road and then you leave your car. The walk is quite challenging (don't bring a stroller or chairs or anything heavy). The view is spectacular, the beach is small and quite pretty. There is some shade from the trees, which is nice. The water is too... More

Its a long way down from the parking to the beach but I enjoyed the view from about half way down. Great place to photograph with the palm trees along the river. The drive through the canyon on the way there was extremely windy. Hold on to your car doors!

Arriving to this place after a long drive in the hot weather, we were really disappointed! When you see the pictures anywhere, or you ask people on the island, they say it is very nice, beautiful, it seems having white sandy beach with its fresh water river and oasis with palm trees. Reality: the last 15 kms of driving is... More

The beach itself is nothing special and may be overcrowded, however it has something suggestive. The small hill overlooking the shoreline is a great point for amazing pictures.

A bit of a hike to get down to the beach but definitely worth it. The beach has crystal clear water and the palm trees make it seem very exotic. We walked in the palm forest and saw turtles in the river.
