After a bumpy and rocky road, you can park near a tavern. From the tavern a 20 minute walk over a small hill near the coast to the beach. Beautiful secluded beach, palm tree forest follows the smaal river coming from the moutains. Short hike through the palm tree forest and the river. Very good area to take a swim.... More

The main access to the beach was hard to find for us since there were no big fancy sings to the parking lot, but LP directions were a big help and it is a worthy trip after visiting the Preveli monastery. The access to the beach is a rocky stairway down and if You are wearing flip-flops, watch your toes,... More

If you travel by car the road to the beach car park is pretty hairy. There is a cliff-top stretch with no barrier or fence which may frighten those who fear heights and once parked up there is a long walk down from the carpark down what is essentially a cliff to get to the beach. However, for those that... More

We had heard talk of a palm tree beach on the island and after talking to some locals we were told there are 2 such beaches, and Preveli was the less touristy one, so off we went in the car. You drive to Rethymnon and then head south. It's a very windy road through some stunning scenery and eventually you... More

We came by boat from Plakias, which was a nice ride! However, we were very disappointed when we got there .... No deckchairs or parasols (as shown in many photographs), but that in itself is not the most important. The beach itself however, is liiterally littered with ash and cigarette butts. Our towels were a dirty yellow-grey from the butts... More

Despite the fact that it was fairly crowded, Preveli is a beautiful place. Fairly interesting (as far as Mediterranean fish go) to snorkel in, but the real treat was walking through the palm forest to the source of the water, where there are less people and tonnes of large fish. The water is really cool but refreshing and the sites... More

Preveli is such a great place..loved the sea there and did a lot on snorkeling...lots of boulders housing lots of fish, crabs and i saw an eel... The beach is very small and can get crowded so there may be towel next to towel..but day boat trip tourists go away around 4:30 5 pm so u have all the beach... More

This place is a heaven for anybody interested in hiking in a beautiful canyon on a semi wild track. You start off at the beach and walk through a magical palm forest. After that you start climbing on rocks to cross the river and keep walking over various wild paths through forest, shrub, rock and river. The canyon is about... More

It's the one of the top beaches in Crete. Easy to reach it, it takes less then 30 minutes. You can park your car on the top on the parking lot (2 EUR per car per day) and you will see a canyon from the top. You can also choose the other road from the East but the way to... More

We stayed right on the other side of the cove in Preveli rent rooms and it was excellent. We arrived in small Fiat 500 via the gravel road from Kerames and trust me, there was more than one small car. So don´t be affraid to drive there, just be careful.
