We went to the flat island on a speedboat. Clear and turquoise water and some decent snorkeling near the rocks. It gets hot pretty quickly due to lack of shade and we had to constantly re-apply sunscreen. The island from across the water seems much nicer.

This is probably one of the most popular activities in Mauritius. You will take a catamaran boat and it will take about two hours until you get to the Island. You wont be the only catamaran - a minimum of 10 others will be there with you. There are two islands, one in front of each other. Most people will... More

It takes 90 minutes by catamaran from Grand Bay and you will love it. We visited ile Gabriel which is close to flat island and it is more beautiful it seems to be at the Maldives.

We went there today and are 8 hours later are still talking about how beautiful this place is. If you go to Mauritius, don't leave without spending a few hours here. It is at the northern tip of the island and the scenery and water are the best. The water is clear, warm and full of fish. The photos you... More

One of the best day trip of my life. If you are looking for a piece a paradise you find it there. Stunning beaches. Incredible snorkeling. Exellent catamaran trip to reach this island. Perfect day under the sunshine of one of the best part of Mauritius. Go and simply enjoy.

Before leaving for our holiday, we had done some research on what to do once we were there. Many had mentioned l'Ile Plate as a great day out for snorkeling ( tripadvisor forum, le routard, lonely planet, etc...). So once we got to Mauritius we booked the trip with Martial (La Mouette). We paid 3000 rp/ €75 for the two... More

Beautyful Place for a 1/2 day trip. There are a lot of small morayeals round the table where the fisherman clean their fish

We visited here whilst doing a tour of the north of Mauritius our driver said it would be worth it. And, he wasn't wrong. The Catholic church is undergoing rennovation but when you walk around it towards the sea you are greeted with fantastic undistrubed views in all directions. When I retire I want to live in a place like... More

Sea can be very rough, go for a catamaran instead. There are no towels available at the island, bring your own. Overall very nice, good snorkelling. No bathroom facilities available

I prefer the other islands. this looks like a trap. welcome was artificial. prices were out of wack for the quality of the produce. you cannot do a lot of things on the island. the p^lace should have been preserved rather
