We accidentally came across this beautiful place on the way back from northern Italy to Germany. The lake was truly picturesque. It is split into two parts: one with the aquamarine water and the other turquoise. The tower in the lake is a bit bizarre. Unlike anything we've seen before, but that's what happens when a town gets flooded i suppose. Anyway, the views of the lake, and of the alps around the lake are glorious. Really good scenic spot. The roads to and from there as well are a bit awesome too (for bikes). So... More

The lake is surreal, as there is a part of a town underneath. You still can see the tower of the former church, half-under the water, it is surreal and beautiful in one. And if you know the reason, it is a bit sad as well.
