There is something for everybody. Rathwood, is particularly famous for its Express Train which takes you around the extensive forest grounds, watch out for the deer and sheep along the way and see if you can spot their newly born offspring. Furthermore they house an excellent restaurant which offers an array of delicious lunch dishes and tempting home baking. They are famous for their scrumptious chocolate mud pie and double layered pavlova and all Rathwood's cakes are baked daily by their talented Pastry Chef Margaret, who has been with them for over 18 years. Special diets eg coeliacs are catered for with a delicious selection of gluten free meals and treats. Is this this a garden centre or a boutique? Do you realise that Rob Roberts coffee is a terrible tasting coffee? The childrens playground is nice but its a long way to go to realise that maybe it might only be worth going here for Xmas!

We visited recently with friends and six year old daughter. She loved the train ride through the forest and the highlight was feeding the geese. Great fun for young ones. We then took the tour through the new maize, which is shaped like Ireland and we had to mark each county as we found it. Great way of learning. Very... More

Another enjoyable few hours spent wandering about Rathwood. It's a little off the beaten track but I like to visit when I'm on the road between Dublin and Waterford. Had a great meal in the restaurant - quiche + 2 salads and also coleslaw, tomatoes and lovely brown bread - all for under a tenner - which is great value... More

I have been going to Rathwood since the very beginning and truly there was nothing like it - friends and family would relish any opportunity of paying a visit and their sales at Christmas especially were not to be missed. It has been a few years since I had been and I recently with a friend who equally had not... More
