Instructors very good and good range of activities. Stunning location. If you stay more than 2 nights you get free use of watersports morning and evening.

We are serial users of the Loch Insh chalets and watersports, and we recommend them heighly to all of our friends, acquaintances and relatives. We do so because this holiday provides us with a blissful, relaxing break from the frenetic everyday existence which we experience during our working year. The watersports are available free of charge for three hours a... More

The lodges are substandard, the bathroom stank, furniture dated and unfomrtable, kitchen not well equipped. The first thing I did on arrival was to leave to purcahse some air freshener. I have stayed in a lot of lodges all around the UK and is not only by far the worst but it is one of the most expensive. As one reviewer... More

We booked one of the lodges for a week on the basis that we wanted a dog-friendly base in the Cairngorms National Park for some walking, cycling, sightseeing etc. The watersports was to be a bit of a bonus but turned out to be one of the best bits of our holiday. We booked our daughters (14 and 11) onto... More

This was our first trip to Aviemore, travelling with a 3 and a 6 year old and we certainly were not disappointed with the location of Loch Insh, the spectacular loch views and surrounding scenery. However, I am not sure really what market this place is trying to appeal to. There is hostel type accommodation for large parties and it's... More

Our boys aged 10 and 6 had a private lesson with two of the instructors and absolutely loved it. They came off the water with big grins and really enjoyed the teaching style. It was a windy day and a bit grey which you would think would have dampened the experience but no. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful location. Adequate facility/hostel though when stayed in room 12 found it to be smelly and damp. Bathroom is very very small and shower is a hose (with shower head)projecting from the wall with a hole in the floor. Tried to get packed lunch one day but was going to be charged £8.50 for a sandwich, couple of small biscuits,... More

It is always amazing when people complain when they don’t like the price of an item; in this case packed lunches. These were prepared but not paid for until they came in for dinner in the evening, which smacks of an argument. They were offered to take their packed lunch back and get a better deal at the local shop,... More

We generally go to loch insch for a coffee and a cake, but it doesn't matter when you go there, there are always activities going on. The dedicated friendly staff are superb and get you sorted into whichever activity you want to partake, quickly and efficiently. So go for a coffee or a watersport, you will not be disappointed.
