We had a lovely evening meal at The Boathouse overlooking the beautiful Loch Inch. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend the Salmon and Fish cakes.

Enjoyed a morning coffee by the loch and a few days later, an evening meal. There was a school activity session taking place but it provided some entertainment when they set out on an evening sailing practice.

The service was poor. I waited 10 minutes to order despite only 3 people in front of me. Then I waited almost 30 minutes for a tomato mozzarella and pesto toastie. The mozzarella was cold, there was only 2 slices of tomato and a dollop of pesto on unbuttered sliced bread lightly toasted on a griddle. Paid £5.95 each but... More

Kids loved it, we stayed in bnb hall. Basic, but fitted the price bracket. Staff friendly. Clean area. Very pretty location. Only down is if you don't have catering facilities you are stuffed if the restaurant is full. It should have a percentage of walking tables for those who stay online and have no facilities. 100% booked tables is just... More

The food was excellent. Service patchy but, bear with it, the location and view is fantastic. Try to get a window seat if you book.

My family loved every minute of our stay. We went in the closed season for many of the activities that they have but we knew this when we booked. Our idea was to use the chalet as a Base camp so we could go skiing in aviemore. We booked an 8 person chalet with hottub. We arrived at the chalet... More

Despite taking a bit of time to get it booked we were really pleased with the ski hire service from Loch Insh that massively helped reduce our queuing time at Cairngorm. They also offered to get lift passes and were both relaxed and efficient. Gear was of good quality too.

Searching for a dry-ski slope for my young daughter to have her first ski lesson, we came across Loch Insh, which is less than an hour's drive from Inverness JAs it was out of season and the school holidays in Scotland were over, we were able to receive extremely valuable personal attention. Johnny is a great instructor and my daughter... More

We were staying in the village of Insh, so the boathouse was our nearest watering hole if we went out for a pint early evening, and what a place to sit and watch the sun go down over the loch, fantastic sunsets over the frozen water, The staff were friendly but at the times we went in they seemed to...
