My family loved every minute of our stay. We went in the closed season for many of the activities that they have but we knew this when we booked. Our idea was to use the chalet as a Base camp so we could go skiing in aviemore. We booked an 8 person chalet with hottub. We arrived at the chalet... More

Despite taking a bit of time to get it booked we were really pleased with the ski hire service from Loch Insh that massively helped reduce our queuing time at Cairngorm. They also offered to get lift passes and were both relaxed and efficient. Gear was of good quality too.

Searching for a dry-ski slope for my young daughter to have her first ski lesson, we came across Loch Insh, which is less than an hour's drive from Inverness JAs it was out of season and the school holidays in Scotland were over, we were able to receive extremely valuable personal attention. Johnny is a great instructor and my daughter... More

We were staying in the village of Insh, so the boathouse was our nearest watering hole if we went out for a pint early evening, and what a place to sit and watch the sun go down over the loch, fantastic sunsets over the frozen water, The staff were friendly but at the times we went in they seemed to... Myself, husband and 3 kids aged 6,6 and 7 have just spent the most magical Christmas ever at loch insh. Roaring open fire, hot tub in the snow and the most stunning scenery. Only regret is we couldn't stay another week. We will definitely return!

I stayed here for a few days with friends. We loved our wee cabin and thought the setting was idyllic. The highlight of the trip was when we went canoeing, we almost had the loch to ourselves and the whole experience was incredibly peaceful. The staff were friendly and very accommodating too. The gent in the lovely wee gift shop... More

Maybe a bonus if you hate dogs, but for a place to accommodate dogs in the lodges yet not have any land on site where a dog can actually walk is not really dog friendly. Especially, when the staff have two dogs that roam freely all over the picnic area where one of the "no dogs" sign is, and make... More

To say we are not dog friendly is a little inaccurate in its context. "Great play spaces for kids" and we would like to keep these play areas free from the droppings of dogs whose owners don't pick up. We have 100 yards of sandy beach and some grass that we cut for picnicking. We do not encourage dogs in... More

Back again on our annual holiday to Aviemore, and we couldn't not visit Loch Insh. Beautiful scenery overlooking the Loch. Great walks, including kids play parks. Great fun to take out a kayak or two! Or simply watch the windsurfers! Lovely place to spend an hour or two with a cup of tea and cake, plus the odd game of... More

Best Fish and Chips in the valley. Fish is so fresh it's worth paying the extra for. And the views across Loch Insh are beautiful and so relaxing. There's always something to watch, whether it be windsurfers or birdlife. The last time we were there an osprey was fishing just outside the restaurant!

Restaurant has lovely views but was disappointed with the food. Overpriced for what it was, tasteless burgers and bland childs pasta. Coke was nearly flat. Wouldnt go back in a hurry.
